Character Creation 101
Character Creation 101

If you stumble upon this guide, you must either be curious or insanely bored (quite amazing, to me, for discovering it in the first place). Either way, this guide was created to help people make decent, original characters. Now, many (if any read this) of you may not and probably will not agree to certain or everything I say. I understand that, but I have been roleplaying for many years and have seen the good and the bad characters but lately I've been seeing more bad than good. I want to fix it, which is why I'm creating this guide. Also, I have nothing against any races, religions, beliefs or anything of the sort that may come up in this guide. I am just stating the obvious, sorry.

Introduction
So, you want to create a character, whether you are new to roleplaying or not, literate or illiterate, it does not matter. Well, actually, it kind of does but that's not the point. If you choose to follow my guide, you do not have to follow everything. Honestly, I don't care about what character you create but I would like to see some change in the thousands of unoriginal characters that have been created. I am also going to attempt to cover every roleplay genre I can but alas, I am one person. I will not get to everything (or most for that matter) but I will attempt to include as many as I can as I go through this guide. That just about does it so here we go! c:

Naming
You picked a gender and now you want to give this character a name. Naming has unlimited amount of imagination, so use it. You can make up any name in any language. Yet, for some reason people tend to use the same or similar names, even in the same genres. Try to refrain from this as much as possible. There's a good chance that you won't ruin into this (or if you do, it can be easily changed) but when you do see it happen, that is not the greatest sign. Now you may be thinking 'this name is completely different! No one will have it.' and/or 'how do I know which names are common?' Well, let me list a few names and hopefully you'll get the idea.

In the vampire (or the dreaded Twilight) genre, refrain from using 'gothic' names like 'Selene, Lithium, Lillian, Luna' and the biggest one of them all: Isabella (and any form of it). These are the most common and even though they may be pretty names, it's really annoying to find at least one of those in every single vampire roleplay. Actually, try to refrain from using any dark names in this genre too. It is too common, in both genders, to see dark and/or goth names. Try using happier sounding names, or even names that sound like they don't fit in that genre.

For any creature type roleplay (with the exception of Warriors. I'll be using dogs/wolves), do not use names like 'Shadow, Demon, Daemon, Luna, Moon, Fang, anything with Foot, Pad, or Paw,'
