Aristotle once said that "Happiness depends upon ourselves." This is a simple meaning that most humans can't seem to grasp. I am not saying this about all of humanity but most people blame their unhappiness and sorrow on others. We have the habbit of alluding the fault to someone other than ourselves. Telling others that "My upbringing wasn't good so that's why I'm angry all the time." I don't mean to sound cruel-hearted when I say this but honestly, that has nothing to do with it. Just because you may not live in the best environment or homestead, doesn't mean that you have to be anything but happy. Yes, it is harder to find the good things in life but they are still there. Instead of focusing on the negative, your home being unsuitable, think of it as a growing experience. Put the attention on your friends and on what you have instead of what you don't. No matter how dark the world can appear, there will always be light. Even if it is small. It exists and it can be found. Rather than feeling down, change something you dislike and find that little piece of happiness.
