Today we broke up
We both said good-bye
We tried to say our feelings
But could do nothing but cry.
I said that I still loved you
You said that you still cared
It all slowly fell apart
Neither one of us aware.
It crept up on us slowly
Knowing exactly what to do
It pulled us apart
Leaving our hearts through and through.
We looked into each others eyes
The pain felt more and more
You held me so tight
Then began looking toward the door.
We hugged each other dearly
Neither one of us wanting to part
We know we couldn't be together
But would be forever joined at the heart.
