It was on that day.... I am Saiko, and this is my story to tell. I was in Washington D.C. for an honor rally. It was a cloudless day, everyone was here it seemed. I watched the bigscreen as the various celebrities and heroes stood and told their tales of America, and then He came...The man with a long white coat walked out across the three foot deep reflecting pool and he didn't even sink an inch into the water. He walked out to the very middle of it and it wasn't until then that he was noticed. He stopped, and everyone, even the speakers and the police and the people surrounding the pool. You could listen and not even the people down the street were talking. He slowly raised one hand into the air with one finger pointing to the sky, and he whispered something. The world grew so quiet the words He spoke were heard clearly despite how low his voice was. All he said was this: "Do not forget." As soon as he had spoke he disappeared without any trace, and the reflecting pool grew as still as glass and then it happened... The world seemed to grow brighter even though there were no clouds before, and colors seemed more vibrant than ever before. The air grew crisp and clean and tasted faintly of the surrounding trees and the water in front of us. Everyone looked around and marveled at the sudden change and they all became happy, as did I. Slowly the world went back to the way it was, the colors faded, and the taste in the air was gone and replaced by smog. The happiness disappeared with the fading sensations. They grew angry they had to lose something so good and they all agreed the world needs to be like that, and for more than a moment. I hope that everyone around me that day remembers the sensation we just experienced, because I will never forget it. It reminds me of days in the past, when we could see as clearly as we just did, instead of everything being dulled, and shaded by business, industry, and above all, laziness. We used to be able to taste the nature and life around us as we just did, but the smog nulls the taste and smell of the world. I have grown eager to see these people fight to regain what they just experienced, and keep it that way. I hope this story has given you a taste of what we can have.
I will never forget....
