Yesterday was my birthday. I am now 20 years old. It has to be the best birthday I have had in a few years.
It started off at about six in the morning. My Dad made me go to work with him for the day (which actually wasn't so bad) but first we stopped and I got a broccoli and cheese kolachi from my favorite little bakery. Then Dad claimed that my very best clothes weren't proffesional enough for his workplace, so he dragged me to the nearest WalMart and made me get new pants, new shoes, and a new top (the pants and shoes suck eggs, but I love the top).
We finally arrive at his workplace, and I get busted for trying to sneakily play my old GameBoy (its a classic, no jokes). So then I get bounced all over the office from employee to employee (who were all very enthusiastic and nice), in my father's attempt to brainwash me into following in his career choice. The work wasn't boring or anything, I just don't think its the right choice for me.
On the way home my Dad took me on the new freeway that he is working on. We had the whole thing to ourselves almost all the way home (it joins back up with another freeway which isn't under construction).
My Mom made spagetti for dinner (I love spagetti), and Twilight came over and ate with us. MY CAKE WAS AWESOME!!! My mom got me a cheesecake! It was like the ones you see in a bakery window, all fancy, and decked out with whipped cream and strawberries. I ate my piece with the soup spoon that Sanzo gave me. It didn't work very well, but I guess thats just because it is for SOUP.
Besides the spoon she gave me these awesome bengal bracelets (I love bengals) with little charms on them. One of them had a turtle. Squee!!! She also gave me a ramen bowl, it actually says ramen on it, and chopsticks, the nice kind that are all dark and laquered. My Mom gave me a necklace and a bracelet with a quote from Helen Keller on the necklace, and a Scripture from the bible (I think the book of Mark, but I'd have to look at it again) on the bracelet. I also got a HUGE PILLOW the size of me!!
But the best part is that we all sat down and ate together at the table (we hardly ever eat as a family). Everyone was joking and laughing, even Dad stayed out with everyone instead of sneaking off to his lair.
So, yay for me I'm twenty! Next year is one of those benchmark birthdays, so maybe I will have a big party or something.
