Today, well actually late last night, my Dad and I began building a mosaic on the wall of the shower in Pyro's bathroom (it is being remodeled). But, since all I did last night was come up with the design (palm trees), and draw the pattern on the wall, I'm saying we started today.
Dad woke me at ten (I usually get up at noon on Saturday) and we began the quest for the right tile colors: green (for the leaves), whitish (for the trunk), and light blue (for the background spaces). We went to six different places to find three different colors of tile! And, each color came from a different store, we even had to special order the blue. But, Dad took me to Taco Bell, and I got Chicken Chalupas so it was fun.
Then when we got home, we went right to work. I ran up and down the stairs more than an overwork office assistant from the top floor. When the pieces were cut out they looked off, and I thought I had messed everything up. But, as we put them up on the wall they looked great! I like the first palm best (we call it tree A, because it is in front of the other).
While we were putting it together, Dad broke one of the leaf tiles. He was so mad, he started cursing. I ended up tracing the broken pieces onto a new tile, like a pattern. It ended up looking better than the first one had. And, he didn't break anymore tiles, though, I ended up ruining a couple.
We stopped working a couple of hours ago. Dad ate the last piece of my Birthday Cheesecake. I got so upset that I cried. No, it's not like I am that much of a pig, but this was finally the perfect birthday, and Mom had saved the last piece just for me. And he ate it. He felt really bad though, he even said that he managed to mess up my birthday even this year. He didn't though. Besides, now he owes me a new cheesecake slice.
I got all the new X-mas items!!! In one shot from the Towns carolling. I'm going to get them again, because I like to have some to sell and gift. And, I don't know if Pyro has gotten his yet, I'll probably just get them for him.
