People are funny. My mother and I were talking about experiences in life. And how s**t happens, you deal with it and how someone deals with things ultimately shapes what kind of person they are. No matter what kind of problems they have.
We have a whole bunch of examples, but keep in mind this was a very long conversation (if you want to know the shpeal, just ask.), and it came down to this. We decide who we are. This womans daughter that my mother knows quite well is a completely psychotic whiner. She gets everything she wants, her parents fight for her and her attention, she owns every kind of electronic anything and is a spoiled little brat. Why do I call her a spoiled little brat? Well, even though her parents (more like her mother because her daddy's rich and bows down to his daughters every whim.) adore her, have tried to teach her proper lifes lessons, given her anything she's ever wanted (PUH! Including surround sound in HER ROOM.Omfgwtf) she still pisses and moans about how bad her life is. This causes them (her parents. Who are also divorced by the way. She has two fully decked out rooms..)a great deal of greif, she'll run away and all this other petty bull s**t because once in her life she had to abide by some rules. This girl is only 15.
I just had to shake my head and laugh.
Honestly. Say I, or any other friend I have every known (because you guys are amazing and I don't think you realize how incredible you are.) reacted to stuff the way this girl does, they'd be some pretty screwed up kids. But we aren't because we don't take 'bump-in-the-roads' as some stupid life trauma and create a negative change in ourselves. We take it, and change ourselves for the better. How cliche, I know. But It's impressive to see that because there are a lot of little spoiled jack-a** kids cause greif for so many people, and then there's the actual people with real problems and they are the happiest and often the most compassionate people you'll ever meet. And they're the ones not getting enough attention because stupid bitches like whats-her-faces daughter are in the spotlight because daddy didn't buy her a new car or she had to do some chores. ********, honey.
Ying-and-Yang, though. I guess if we didn't have pricks like her we couldn't really see strength in other people because everyone would just be well rounded people, and nothing would really be impressive.
What makes me sad though, when kids with real problems get called "emo". I hate that phrase now. With a passion. Someone needs to talk, but they're afraid because they'll get called "emo". Grow the ******** up everyone. Even me because I'm guilty for doing it. (We realize what we hate most in others because we see it in ourselves.) Every dog has it's day. I would describe someone who's emo, as some kid with no excuse to whine and is just causing avoidable greif for themselves. And I would try not to call them emo. Hell I'd try not to acknowledge them (but I know damn well I would.), but I would call them whiners. Nothing more. Because too many kids who actually need help won't get it because of that fear of being labelled. Hell, you can't even say something cynical in jest without being called emo.
So I'm really happy that I know the people that I do. You guys have toughed out a lot, believe it or not. And you turned out to be amazing, couldn't find better people anywhere. So, I tip my hat to you.
