Shaokongshan's Weekly Post
Just put stuff about my week outside of gaia, inside gaia, random stuff like what I watched, listened to, played, and also probably put info and opinions of people I met in gaia.
Week 1: Penpals, Forums, and more...
Penpals:

So the other day I watched the movie Eurotrip and watching Scotty talk to Mike his penpal over email seemed interesting. I am so use to forums, IM's, and texting. I wanted to see how email penpals are. I mean its still faster than using the postal service, but it can be slower than forums. So I found two websites that are dedicated to penpals.

www.penpalworld.com
www.penpalparty.com

These two have different set of rules, but still have a lot of people you can find and chat with. Sadly no one from these two websites have replied to my emails. I wish to find a penpal in a few different cultures actually.

Germany
Russia
Japan
Thailand

I have always been interested in the culture of these lands and their languages. As of now I have one person that has replied in emails and that is one person from this site. I will not release the username in this journal. They know who they are haha.

Forums:

So halfway through the week I found a thread in the Friends Chat Forum called "=^.,.^= Old Folks Gathering (For 18+)" The people here are kind, silly a bit, and just fun to have a chat with. Like most people on gaia of course. I met a guy that I called Mr. Mochrie that had also introduced me to another thread that says they want people 20+, though even though I am 19 they didn't mind. The people there were nice to chat with as well. This thread was called "Age Conspiracy?: A Chat Thread for Gaians 20yrs and older"

Games:

So I have always been a big World of Warcraft fan and still a Blizzard Entertainment Fanatic, but after Cataclysm stuff got a little boring. I mean its kinda neat that the lands were changed and the quest changed a bit, but its easier to go through and gets boring very very fast. I still think World of Warcraft is the best mmo due to the major content and the different race/class.

Rift: Planes of Telara is a game that came out in February 2011 and I bought the collectors edition a few days before the release. If I remember right the release date was February 4, 2011 to be exact. I played the first month and things were fun, but due to my computer it was a little slower than wow. I had fun and played that month then switched back to wow for a few months then stopped, then got back on wow for about 2-3 months again. I still am subscribe to wow and now subscribed to Rift as well. Rift is great in my opinion because for one the graphics, and the idea of choosing pretty much 1 class and using many different portions or souls to find a nice combination for the gameplay is amazing. You can choose warrior, cleric, rogue, mage. My favorite warrior soul combination is just combining champion and beastmaster. I don't care about the third soul. My favorite cleric is just full healer souls so sentinel/warden/purifier. My favorite rogue group is actually a melee combination nightblade/riftstalker/assassin. My favorite mage is a little hard. I find so many entertaining. I would say my favorite two combinations I made was Pyromancer/Elementalist/Stormcaller like it says. Warlock/Chloromancer/ either archon or dominator I can't remember.

Do you play psn? Want a buddy on it? Send me your psn name here.
