Satori snickered as Gangrel tripped over the wire she had place on a whim. He got up angrily, chasing her around the camp Walpurgis had set. Satori smiled to herself as she ran - boredom never seemed to come for her anymore. Walpurgis and Gangrel served as an ever replenishing fount of amusement. She wasn't even scared of humans anymore.
True to what Gangrel had said, Walpurgis was kind to a fault, and Satori found him an irresistable target for pranks. But he never got mad at her, only laughed it off. She and Gangrel were getting closer, as well. He had been teaching her battling strategies, and she had been teaching him some simple pranks. Mostly by putting them into practice, but it was more fun that way.
She and Gangrel would often explore nearby areas together. And they did so now, pausing their chase long enough to alert Walpurgis to their departure before bolting off again. Used to it after 3 months, he waved them off with a smile.
They ran over to a nearby hill to continue their game of cat and mouse. Gangrel chased Satori for a while before putting his battle experience into play to cut her off, tackling her to the ground. The two rolled down the hill in a tangled mass for a while before landing on the flat ground, exhausted.
Satori gazed into Gangrel's red eyes, and he into hers. They stayed like that for a few seconds, watching eternities pass. Satori thought inwardly to the reason she had joined their group. She had just wanted to alleviate boredom, and boredom never came. All she had ever wanted was to have fun, but now something else vied for supremacy - she wanted to be with Gangrel. He was mean-spirited at times, rude, and hotheaded, but he was fiercely loyal to those he cared about, and he was incredibly nice to those he loved, under the scathing remarks. He was honest about how he felt, often brutally so. But that was a good thing. She loved him.
--------------------------------------------------
Gangrel was also thinking of his newfound relationship with Satori. He had never allowed himself to get so close to someone before, bar Walpurgis. She was simultaniously mischevious and kind, and was always willing to do something to kill boredom. Even with the pranks she played on him, she was kind to him. He loved her.
They stared at each other for moments more, the unspoken words hanging over each of their heads, neither willing to break the silence. It was a kind of torture, each knowing what they wanted, hoping it matched the other's wishes, all wrapped into a huge orb of confusion.
Simultaniously, the decided to go for it.
[Um!} Pause. {You first.] Another pause. Finally, Satori broke the silence. {Okay, I know this is going to sound, really, really stupid. Call me out on it if you like, but I really like the time we spend together. Boredom never sets in, and the world disappears when you're with me, and all that's left is fun. It's stupid, I know, but I just wanted to tell you, because - }
Before she could continue, Gangrel cut her off. [Satori, I've known you for 3 months, and already I can say with confidence that if I had to be with one person forever, never leaving their side, it would be you. You're smart and funny and beautiful, and there's nobody in the world, pokemon or otherwise, I would rather spend time with. I'm being honest, here, I'm not lying.] Tears welled up in Satori's eyes as she smiled weakly. {I know.}
With that, the two embraced at the base of the hill.
