The right to be:
Overview: A more cyberpunk/futuristic roleplay about humans, life-like androids, and the most controversial rights movement yet. Though this idea is far less developed than my last, it's still worth looking into.
Looking closer: This RP would probably take place in a fairly non-descript big city in the USA, focused on both human and android characters as robots begin to lobby for equal rights. Like almost any american rights movement, it has many supporters on both sides, but it's hard to say who's right... The Androids aren't living beings, but machines, constructed to do things men won't, or can't do. And yet they're incredibly intelligent, most equaling humans, and some even surpassing them. And either way is equally dangerous, as most people are sure that the machines could start attacking people either way. If they don't get rights, they might attack the government, or those seen opressing them. If they do, then they have such enormous freedom that they could start making choices for themselves, and possibly the choice to buy weapons to kill people. While it's mostly paranoia, a few robots have attacked people, and humans have imagined a robot uprising from nearly the moment they thought them up... Also, robots in this world are almost always bound to their master's will, save for the rare cases in which a robot is 'set free'. This means humans often take advantage of it, prime examples being illegal robot fighting, and 'pleasure bots'... Things that further drive robots to gain rights, and drive humans to prevent them from those rights... (suggestion: One interesting idea might be 'self-liberated' androids/robots, which have gained intelligence to the point that they no longer believe themselves to be truly robots, meaning that, in their minds, Asimov's laws no longer apply to them, and they can defy the laws. However, only incredibly intelligent (Or incredibly Empathic/emotional) robots have the ability to do so, and most still follow the laws to a point, only defying when they truly feel the need to do so.)
