Silent, yet very random thoughts
One of my many stories...
"Mom, Dad...Why can't you understand?" I said, obviously whining.
"Honey, the problem is he's too old for you. Your seventeen and he's twenty three," they replied.
I slouched into a nearby chair, feeling like I had no other options. "Mother, his name is Vanson, not him or not that guy your seeing. You know what, though, I don't care what you think, because day after tomorrow I am flying out to Okinawa to be with him."
My mother threw her hands up in frustration and turning to my father, "How can I get through to her?! She clearly can't make decisions for herself!"
"Mother, Father, I'm right here you know. Why do you act so ashamed, besides you and dad are that far apart in age and you two love each other," I argued, trying not to show the frustration in my voice.
"You know that's different and you have only known Vanson for four weeks and yet you are already living with him!"
"What's so different? At least, I am still wanting to get an education," I replied, knowing that they knew it was the full truth. "Vanson has never pressured me into doing anything I don't want to do. He respects my wishes, shouldn't that matter?!"
My mother stalked off to her room, bewildered on what to say. "Sweetie, why do you have to be so hard on your mother?" My father asked, "She just wants what's best for you is all."
"I thought what she wanted was for me to be happy, but I guess that's obvious to see," I said, sarcastically.
"She does."
"Then how come I don't see it? How come she has to throw everything possible at me to "try" and see things her way. I don't want to lead the life she wants for me, I want to lead my own life. Like, picking where I want to live, who I hang out with, what guys I date."
"We'll talk tomorrow, okay?" He replied, breathlessly.
"Fine, see you in the morning, daddy."
I went to my room and jumped on my bed. I took out my cellphone and texted all of my friends. Kato quickly replied saying: Hey girl! Your parents still looking down on your relationship? Hang in there, they'll come around!; ) Love you always, Kato.
Rapidly, I texted her back and turned over to text Vanson; Hey Van, how are you? Not much here the folks are fighting with me again. You don't worry though, I'll be back in two days, hopefully by then my mother will come to her senses to see that I love you. How are the others managing without me? Love you, Shia.
Glancing around the room, I saw darkness fall into the corners. "Wow, just how I feel." A sudden ring distracted my thoughts. "From Van probably, it read: Shiota, it's going around here just waiting for you to get back. It's that bad, huh? Well stick it out there, I love you! =) .
I drifted off to sleep, being quickly awoken to my mom waking me up for school, "Come on, you got to get up or you're gonna miss your ride with your friends."
"Fine, I'm getting up, are you happy now?" I grumbled with not much enthusiasm.

I stood outside, waiting for my new friends to get here so we could go to school.
"Hey! Sorry we're late, my folks rushed to Nagawa, so we had to find someone else to drive us," my friend, Anna, rushed. "Well? Are you coming?"
Now, it was my turn to apologize, "Oh sorry I was just thinking. I wasn't really paying much attention."
We rode to our private school in silence until Anna spoke, "What's with you today? You're being all quiet, unlike normal."
"I had a fight with my parents yesterday about Vanson, you know, the usual."
"Oh...she still harping on you about him? I've heard you guys talk on the phone and can tell that you two are serious."
"Yea..."
We arrived at school and a guy I had never seen before walks casually up to me, "Hey...my name is Braddock, what's yours?"
"Her name is Shiota and she's already taken, sorry," Anna interrupted, noticing he was trying to flirt.
"Thanks, I hate it when that happens, me having to explain over and over again," I said, walking up to the doors with her.
"No problem, I think you need to make it clear to the guys that you are already taken."
"Yeah...your right, but I think I'm just too nice, is all," I replied, feeling my cheeks flaming with embarassment.
"Of course I'm right," she said. "That is true though, about you being too nice. Tonight, you come over to my house, okay? I want to give you a temporary makeover, so that way if you like it you can keep it. If not, well you get the idea."
"Sure, I need to do something to get away from my parents anyway," I agreed happily.
"Alright then, it's a date!"
"Oh, we better get going or we're going to be late for math. C-mon, Anna!" I hurriedly said, running down the hall. Without noticing, she bumped into someone in the hall, "So-sorry, I-I didn't see you."
"Believe me, it's alright, Shia," a familiar male voice said, using her recognizable nickname.
"Oh my god, Vanson! What are you doing here?!" I screamed, causing everyone to turn their heads toward me.
"I thought I would come see you during school, because I couldn't see you at your parents house," he said, looking down at me with his deep blue, intensifying eyes.
"Well, I am glad you are here! My parents keep nagging me and I thought I wouldn't be able to take anymore s**t from them."
"It's okay now, once your school day is over, I'm going to take you back to Okinawa, how does that sound?"
"...Actually, Anna and I had plans tonight....so could we go home tomorrow?" I asked.
"Sure, whatever you want to do I'm okay with. But would you mind if you two came over to my hotel room? Because I want to spend as much time with you as possible, okay?"
"You know what? That would be just fine with me," Anna quickly interrupted, trying to hide her excitement.
"Sure, I'll also ask my parents if I can stay the night," I replied, turning to Anna. "Would you mind too much if my parents said yes that I could stay with Van at the hotel? So that way, he can drop me off at your house and then my parents will pick me up and not suspect anything."
"I don't mind, you haven't seen him for three months and I understand how you want to be alone with him," she said, turning around to head off to class.
"Thank you so much! Okay, Van, we'll meet you there at your room, but for right now I need to go to math."
"See you later, Shia," he replied, bending down to kiss my forehead.

"Oh my god! I can't believe how lucky you are to have a guy like Evanson care about you," Anna squeled, as we walked down the street down to Vanson's place.
"Yeah....I guess I am, huh?" I smirked. Although, inside I wasn't hiding the truth, I knew I was really lucky to have him, because I was pretty ordinary. I had black hair, hazel colored eyes, and didn't have that much of a shape.
"Whatever, you don't have to rub it in," Anna sneered, half laughing. "Unlike us less fortunate that don't have guys like you do."
"Oh...I was only kidding you know, it's just my parents don't seem to understand, even though I am happy they reconsidered about letting me "stay" over at your house."
"Now that was a lucky break, I have to admit. Are you ready for your new look?"
"As ready as I'll ever be, I'm tired of looking ordinary, I want to be different," I assured her confidently.
We walked through the lobby of the hotel, that Vanson had given us and stepped into the elevator.
"What floor did he say he was on?"
"The twentieth floor is what he told me. So we have a long way to go up," I replied nervously.
"What are you so nervous about? It's not like you're going on a blind date or anything."
I shrugged at her observation, "I don't know, I guess I'm nervous about my parents figuring out where I went instead of where I was supposed to be."
Anna rolled her eyes at me, "Well, if you ask me you need to lighten up a little bit. Take a chance, get out there."
