For the past week, I've started at 8:30, sung my heart out for 3 straight hours, had a glorious 1-hour lunch break, then sung my heart out for 4 more hours. My singing voice is utterly and completely gone, but oh well because I love each and every one of the Choralaires with the exclusion of about 3. And fortunately we've been working with Mrs. Broge instead of Mr. Budd cause he's been with the Royalaires. Oh how I adore Mrs. Broge!!! I think she officially ranks as number 3 on my favorite teachers ever list (right behind Mrs. Savitsky who of course is 1st and Mrs. Palmer who's 2nd).
Oh and just so you all know, WHIZ-BONG is an amazing game! You should all play or at least come watch hilarity (is that a word?) of the Choralaires playing it. Oh and we also came to the conclusion that the new trend in dying on CSI's new season this fall with be Starbucks Overload. Mrs. Broge is going to go first with her daily 4-shot expresso iced latte. I can see it now... "What's the C.O.D. (cause of death), Doc?" "Well Gil, it seems that she died from a Starbucks Overload" "Doesn't surprise me. With this generation of Starbucks on every corner, it was bound to happen."
^^^Yeah, we go off on random conversations like that in the middle of class on a daily basis.
Well next week will is going to whoop my butt into shape. Our choreographer can't come until next week, so it's going to be so hardcore come Monday.
Okay, funny story time. So we got fitted for out costumes on Friday. We had to wear our stage bras meaning a strapless with an underwire. Well being the flat-chested one that I am, I don't even completly fill out an A. This fully came to realization when I was getting measured. Please God don't let me be the one that falls out of her dress during a show. LOL! rofl
Now I must share with you our fall repetoire:
"Since U Been Gone" (Kelly Clarkson) "The Trolley Song" (Judy Garland) "Behind These Hazel Eyes" (Kelly Clarkson) "When I Fall In Love" (Celine Dion) "Don't Rain On My Parade" (Barbra Streisand) "Take Five" (vocal jazz tune) "We're All In This Together" (High School Musical) "Broadway Baby" (Follies)
I'm so excited about each and every one of those! And to top it off, our voices all blend amazingly well, even if they're all strained from singing non-stop for a week. My voice sounds worse than it does when I come home from camp, and you know how it is, Stout.
OHHHHHHHH!!! I must tell you about Eva Laughter's new car (she's one of my Choralaire friends that I really got to know last year during crew). Anywho, she has a brand spanking new cream MINI Cooper, and I get to ride in it everyday to go to lunch! OMGSH I LOVE IT SO MUCH! It's so adorable! And anyone who knows me knows I love MINI Coopers because of my love for The Italian Job.
Yay, so that was my random ranting about my past week. And just think, I get to do it all over starting on Monday.
