I feel the towel, touching my skin,
The sun on my face, great way to begin,
A beautiful day, children all round,
Screaming with laughter, not calming down.
I hear the waves gently lapping the shore,
All hate is forgotten, all of the war.
Everyones together, so fun and so free,
This is truly what life should be.
I'm so warm and happy, like I could take flight,
Wait, what was that?
Something's not right...
And before I know it, I've lost my song,
The ground is shaking, somethings gone wrong.
"Run! A tsunami!" A little voice screams,
Tsunami, I think, what does that mean?
People are screaming and running around,
But I am not moving, I stand my ground.
"What are you doing?!" A woman shrieks at me,
"Get up! Run away! It's coming! Can't you see?!"
I sit up and see what she's pointing at,
"Oh my god." I exclaim, "What the hells that?"
But I know what it is, and it's heading this way,
Oh please, it's not happening, not now, not today.
There's no use of running, it's practically here,
My legs turn to jelly and my hearts full of fear.
It's all over in seconds, it takes me away,
I'm a victim among thousands, on this fateful day.
As the wave makes impact, the look on my face,
Is not one of fear, but of peace and of grace.
Because I am not scared, for I am a bird.
Flying away to a much better place...
