Amielia sat in a dark corner, counting the cracks in the stone walls of the biulding, she heard the echo of foots steps coming up the hall, and a crak of daylight flooded into the room.
" The time has come, my dear, sweet Amielia, the horns sounds, and my men are ready to go..." she felt his hand clasp her shoulder, she shuddered and stood up, and turned to look out from behind closed curtains.
" so you've decided?" her words pitched from her mouth with the force of her fustration, she tried to hide her sorrow behind her anger.
" promise me you'll wait...."
she turned and snapped at him, she couldn't take it..
" wait for what, Florien.... Death and heart break?!"
FLorien grabbed her shoulders, and held up her tilted chin..
" I'll come back to you, I promise. Don't do this , it hurts me enough"
Tears flooded down her pale face
" and what would you have me do Florien? Dream for countless days of how it used to be? Say you will not go" she stumbled through fits of tears. Florien looked her sternly in the eye adn held her firm.
" I do what my heart tells me, and i would have you respect that."
" And so your heart desires battle over me. You do not love me.."
Breaking away from this Florien walked over to the door and thought a minute. Womens games.. he thought... and sighed deeply.
" I fight for my heart loves this country... and you are only but one person in it i would say that i alone fight for you, but i know you would not have it so.... but, would you also desire that i sty here and wait for death to knock upon our door?"
Amielia stood there motionless, torn...
" And you ..... Florien, you are also one person. One more name for me to find among the head stones....."
" But my name, shall be the one to change all history!"
she stared at him coldly...
" Yet you will be no hero to me!"
He held her gaze, and simply gave up trying. it was his duty.... he walked off and slammed the door.
as if someoe had shot her down, she fell on hands and knee, in tears..
" please don't , leave me again..." Amielia sat alone in bed , she fell asleep to the sounds of her brother walking up and down the corridor.... waiting for their father to return... he was always gone....
she finally dozed off late into the night , her own voice, and disstilled images flowed through her mind...
her vioce shook with fear...
I remember it like a dream......
Images Of florien leading the army into a flood of visous men stained her mind... she tossed and turned...
But to often it becomes a nightmare....
she watches from a distance, as blood spills onto the rolling hills of their homeland... the peacefull scilence erupting like flames from hell...
fighting may have been the answer.....
her words tremble, as FLoriens face, bobs among the waves of steel, calshing, like thunder..... people fall to the ground.... were once was green grass, now lies baren...
I never got to tell you, before you left..
her words are chocked, and turning away, now become an infinate struggle, she watches as Florien falls to the ground, and with one, last puklse of energy,.... he falls.... reaching out......
All now goes black..... AMielia clung deperatly to the pillows, tears slid down her face... she creis out.... and rolls back over.. she wipes her face and sits at a dark table in the corner of the room... dipping a quill into a bottle of ink, black as itch, she spills her heart onto a string of paper..
When I came to the door that day, they told me what had happened
your face, still haunts my dreams... tears spilled endlessly onto the paper, she hides her face, from her reflection in the mirror. she writes endless ly into the night....
the next morning, AMielia awoke and walked mornfully to her open window, she took a pigeon out of it's cage, and tied the peice of paper to it's leg...
She watched it fade into the red sky, and gazed at the dew unfolding among the endless hills...
" a dream........ was that all we had?"
they day grew very warm as delian paced impatiently , it had been days and no news of what had happened to his father, Amielia was very upset.
"sir!" and young soilider entered the arch, he stood in salute and waited for release.
" what have you found"
" only tracks sir, heading north..."
Amielia sat listening intently in the bushes,
" North huh? i know where he's off too....." she stood up and walked gingerly u the steps to the arch.
" Delian. What is going on? have you found something?" she sounded very obvious but her brother paid no attetiontion. she wanted him to follo her to the mountains.... she treid so hard to make things better..
" Nothing for you to be concerned about." he smiled at her and walked over and gazed endless at the lake to the north, beyaond the moutains peaked, until they became lost in cloud. amielia sighed and walked away. sometimes it was hopeless.....
