Okay, this is my daughter's list of stuff she's thankful for. She wanted to post it here and in her own avatar's journal too. And since I don't want to waste my time writing up all the stuff I'm thankful for, I'll just let her go ahead and do hers.
I'm most thankful for my family, cause they've got my back no matter what stupid thing I do to screw up. And even though they're all really really old, they're all healthy and full of wisdom that they are more than happy to share with anyone patient enough to listen. And they're all so proud of me, so I'm thankful to have their support during the major changes in my life. I know that there is no limit to what they would do for me if I needed them, and they have always been generous with kind words and the occaisional care package full of food even though they themselves don't have much.
I'm thankful for all my friends who have always been available for me when I need someone to talk to or someone that I need to understand me without making judgements. I'm thankful that being away from home hasn't diminished the love we have for each other. And I'm thankful for the friends that I've made at school because they're always ready to have fun and keep me from working too hard. I'm thankful for my roommate, even though she's not my roommate anymore and moved out, she was a really good roommate while she was here.
I'm thankful for being healthy. I haven't gotten sick all the time I've been away. Except that one time at the Halloween party when I was stupid and let my friend talk me into eating Taco Bell at 1 am. Yeah, I was sick then. But that was the only time. I'm thankful for my mental health. I've been doing so much better since I've been at school. I finally feel like I've calmed down, and I can better control my emotions. I haven't gotten hurt real bad or fallen down any stairs. I just slip and fall down a lot when it rains.
I'm thankful for every day that I live, even though some days suck hard. Cause it's better for me to live those really sucky days than for to not have lived them. I'm thankful for my dorm, that it is warm (usually) and has a really nice view that makes me happy every morning when I get to watch the sunrise.
I'm thankful that my teachers aren't too harsh and that I can get my work done okay. I'm glad that I can talk to them and they won't mind helping me with any assignment that I don't understand.
I'm thankful for every spirit who watches over me, and I'm thankful that they never leave me completely alone. That thing that was in my room that hurt me, I'm very thankful that it's gone. I'm thankful to feel at peace with the world and to understand that everything that happens, happens for a reason and that every trial I go through will make me a stronger person in the end.
And I am thankful that this is probably the sappiest thing that I will ever write in my life. But most importantly, I'm thankful that I'm done writing it.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!!!
