"Is all that we see or seem
But a dream within a dream?"
No, really.
I am not actually asking whether we exist or not. I am asking what aspects of our existence are real, or simply imagined. Wht is fact, and what is a figment of our imagination. Morals, love, ownership. Are these infallible things, or just products of human society, softwired into our brains by evolution, eventually to rot away in the bogs, sands and changing landscape of eternal Time? Is Time even eternal, or are the laws of the universe changing so slowly that they only appear as constants to us, with our firefly-flash lifetimes?
In a way, I am asking whether or not we exist.... will we exist in a billion years time? Our 'eternal' atoms replaced and warped? In a trillion years, will everything we hold to be true and solid as the earth we cling to be nothing more then a dream, a dream within a fragmented dream?
