When I was young...My clan went to war with it's brothering clan. I was only 10 back then, 90 in human years. I thought I was too young for such a battle but since I had become the Princess of Light, I had no choice. I was to begin doing things I never thought I would have been allowed to do 20 years before. I took up my silver blade, Rin, and set out with the army. My armor glinted in the full moon light as we rode onwards. We had hoped to sneak upon them but...It seemed as if they knew our plans. We were ambushed at Midnight. Shadow elves set fire to our tents, killing a few warriors in their sleep. I was wide awke when the first attack took place. Sitting in a tree to think, I watched with horror. As the sun rose over the mountians to the East, the shadow elves retreated to their lair. I should have followed them but I needed to know if anyone was hurt. My mother had been there in the scuff of it all. Her left arm was wounded badly and she was bruised but alive. As was my grandda, the High Elder in our Courts. We planned our next move. That night, the shadow elves attacked us again but we were ready for them. This time it was their numbers that decreased in bloodshed. Killing a few of my own, I still feel their blood on my hands. I went in search of more to destroy as I had been wandering away from the battle. Soon I found myself alone in the forest, the sounds of clashing metal and the cries of dying men still sounding in the distance. I was going back when someone cut off my path. It was a woman with short blone hair and red tips. Like me, she wore a mask only hers with black. Her dark blue eyes glared back at me with a deep hate I never understood back then. Before I could react, she lunged at me with her sword, her free hand covered with fire magic. I crossed my arms infront of my face to take the blow, my arms were burned badly because of it. She dodged off to the side into the darkness. Now wasn't the time to worry about my arms, and the blood coming from the scorched flesh. I hastily pulled out my silver blade, searching the darkness for her presence. I turned just as a twig snapped and she jumped out of the trees in a charge. I slid dowwards, aiming my sword upwards into her chest. She twisted away getting only a scratch for a wound. When she swore I nearly stopped in my tracks. I knew that voice... "Bow down to my blade and I'll let you live." She growled, pointing her black sword at my throat. I dropped my sword to the ground, in a state of shock. It couldn't be...Out of the corner of my eye, I saw a flash of blue light as an electrical current hit me hard. I flew back into a tree gasping for breath. My armor had taken the blow for me, leaving it scorched and burning. She walked up to me and wrapped her hand around my throat, squeezing. "This is for all of our lives...I will never be second best again..." I closed my eyes, trying to think over the pain. My hands began to glow green as a vine shaped sword formed with my magic. No longer thinking, I thrust my new blade forward, through her black armor. Her face took on the look of shock as she stepped away, releasing me. The blade had gone striaght trough the armor, her dark red blood pouring onto her hands and the ground. She gave me one last look before falling to the earth. I rubbed my neck, walking up to her body. Knealing beside her, I reached out and removed her mask. Dark blue eyes, ones that I knew so well, stared up at me in betrayal. "Ava?" I whispered, clutching her mask in my hand. Tears long forgotten streamed down my cheeks as I cradled her head in my lap. I almost killed my own sister! Her blood covered my hand as I pressed against the wound. She was losing too much blood too fast. "Suko..." she whispered, her voice hoarse. I bent down to hear her more. "You should be the one dying..." She pressed her hand against my stomach, using the last of her energy to blast me with her fire magic. I gasped and held on tighter. She took one last shuddering breath as the world faded to black in her vision. I'm not sure how long I sat there, holding onto my twin sister. I had killed her...my own blood... Footsteps reached my ears as my grandda and mother burst through the trees. I looked up, still sobbing over her body. My mother gasped and turned to cry on the solider of the General of the army. Grandda bowed his head as he whispered a small prayer in elvish then ordered for two men to take Ava's body back to the village. As they tried to pry me away from her, I fought against them, scratching and clawing to get back to her. Someone hit me over the head and knocked me out. The last thing I saw was my mother crying over Ava. When I woke, my mother was sitting at the window of my room. She turned to look at me as I sat up. In one quick motion, she walked over to me and slapped me across the cheek. I blinked in shock as she yelled at me in elvish. She stormed out of my room and I was left alone. About a day or so later, I clasped my cloak around my shoulders, opening my window. The barricade I built up infront of my door wouldn't last for long. As I stepped out onto the ledge, someone banged on the door. "Princess? It's Barek. Let me in!" He banged on the door harder, trying to force his way in. As the door opened, I whispered a small apology and jumped out of the window. I was in shock at what I had found. Dark elves had attacked our village in revenge for the death of Ava. Women and children ran to hide while others fought against them. Amongst the fire and screams, I raced through the crowd to the trees. A growl stopped me dead in my tracks. Turning, a man laughed darkly. I looked towards the main temple. A man in dark clothing and armor blasted the elves with fire and lightning. Something nudged my hand and I looked down into the ice blue eyes of my Tigress gaurdian, Janube. "Get on." she growled. I obeyed and closed my eyes to the destruction around me. Janube leaped through a fire, swiping at whoever was in her way. We ran through the forest, dodging trees and roots with great speed. As night began to fall, Janube stopped and transformed into her female body. Her jet black hair and white bangs, tan skin, and shang clothing. "Go through those trees and hide. I will find you as soon as I can." As I tried to protest, she growled, thrusting an feather necklace into my hand. I looked down at it, studying the white feather. "GO Princess!" She growled again. I simply nodded and ran.
