Inside my mind there is a beautiful cup. A very beautiful , pretty, clear cup. And tiny drops keep falling into it…drip…drip…drip. Slowly but steadily, every day. And today ; I felt that the cup had finally become completely full. And that’s because you gave me some of those drops. So , thank you….
The time when a Haibane goes out side the walls on their day of flight…my flight has finally come.
The legend goes that there are ancient ruins in the heart of the woods…and the a Charcoal Feather is lead there on his or her Day of Flight…The Day of Flight is the time where a Haibane leaves the nest to go beyond the walls. There is no way of telling when that day will come or to whom. He or she just disappears one day without warning. No one knows why such things happen. A charcoal Feather who is about to leave the nest, never speaks of it to others. Besides, we haven’t had any Days of Flight for the past few years…mincingly because, for along time there wasn’t any new cocoons appearing. So nobody has left the nest for quite a while. Perhaps we were all forgetting or hopping the we could forget that there may come a day , when we have to say goodbye to one of us, like today.
Everybody….in the end everybody leaves me.

Good morning ______. Its already been a month since you left. Winter has finally come to this little town. But thanks to your advice, I didn’t catch a cold. How are you doing _____? So what’s it like where you are now? What do you do there? I hope people are as nice as those in the town of Glie. Incase you were wondering everybody here at home is doing fine. And I’m… sorry, but I can’t congradatulate you like everybody else. I wanted to be with you so much longer. I wanted to go shopping with you…and eat with you, and talk about a lot of things with you. There were a lot more things I wanted you to teach me about.
For the people of this town ____’s disappearance is not a big deal. Life goes on. Soon they’ll properly forget that she/ he was even here. _____. Don’t you care about that?
