In a deep white mist the figure of a young man stands staring off into the distance. Only the back of his head and top of his shoulders can be seen through the swirling fog. Slowly, he becomes more visible as the mist seems to solidify onto him. He is a deep pale, but, as the mist around him shrinks away, it looks like more of a shine then a byproduct of disease. His hair is short but the pure white makes it stand out, even against his fair skin. As the mist recedes just below his shoulders white wings clearly spread out while the mist around him finishes turning into a white and silver robe. The man starts to turn and his face becomes more visible when a bright flash engulfs everything. Sigeal wakes up with a flash light in his face. “Spencer what did you do that for? This time I almost saw him!” Instead of hearing the strong, overly sarcastic voice he expected Sigeal hears a barely audible, though she was not whispering, very feminine voice reply “Quiet down your still in class.” As she puts away the flashlight he sits up and looks around. Seeing desks and all his classmates he thinks ‘So I am in class, but which one?’ He looks around and sees Mr. Keith ranting, luckily, on the other side of the room. ‘It’s history.’ He lets out a sigh at the thought. ‘I wouldn’t mind it so much if we learned more then his history “Abduction” or something.’ He turns toward the girl that had woken him. “Sarah where did you get Spencer’s flashlight?” She turns back toward him, deciding to talk instead of listen to the small short bald man making no sense. “He gave it to me so I could wake you up without making too much noise. Now it’s my turn. How is it that you can fall asleep, in the middle of class no less, and not remember anything when you wake up.” He lets out another sigh. ‘Why does she care so much?’ “I don’t fall asleep it’s a daydream.” She gives him a smug smile. “It can’t be a daydream if your unconscious. Also you didn’t answer my other question.” He stares at Sarah and starts thinking about her dark hair, lovely smile, dark green eyes, and that strange look of understanding in those eyes that make talking to her so easy. In truth her eyes have a look of understanding because she can sometimes read people’s thoughts through their expressions, as she was doing now. She gives him a genuine smile. “See that’s daydreaming.” He notices what he had been doing and he decides to pretend it didn’t happen. “I don’t remember, and it’s not sleep because I am in a sort of trance. It is my brain telling me things I can’t see through metaphor....I think.” Amazingly she did not tell him how stupid that sounded, or that he was being over imaginative without a second thought like she did last time he said anything about it six months ago. Instead, after about a minute of pondering, she replies with an earnest sound of concern that shocks Sigeal “I don’t like the fact that you have been changing so much. First it was just the ‘trances’ as you put it, but now you even look different. Your hair is so much darker it seem like a whole new shade of black, your skin is lighter, and glows compared to your hair, and your eyes seem to change color almost every day. Then your posture is better and you look as solid as a brick wall, while you move around with no energy. You fall asleep and seem concerned only for the things you see in your dreams. The odd thing is that you have a look of meaning, or purpose would probably be a better term. If it is for the things you see when you sleep let it go. You don’t want to have your life centered around a fantasy world you see only in your dreams.” He shakes his head. After the initial shock he was ready for something like that. “Think about it. If I didn’t see the importance it has here and now I wouldn’t be trying so hard to see the whole vision. I-” She cuts him off. “It’s a vision now?” “I thought it was just a dream but after the first week of always being able to remember what happened and the fact it always got longer led me to believe it is not just some dream. So, I will see the whole thing and go from there. It is something I have to do. Plus some my first trances showed me things which have started to happen recently, and I feel a sense of urgency when I think about this one which keeps appearing intermediately.” “The way you say that makes you sound believable,-” The bell rings and everyone else in the room rushes to lunch. “-but you still have to understand my skepticism Sigeal.” ‘What is with her today. She used my name directly to me, she never does that. Does she know something I don’t?’ She reaches over and grabs his hand as a reassuring gesture and when he looks in her eyes they glaze over, but keep a strong stare. The next thing he knows he is in the mist holding hands with Sarah and as what he had seen before starts to appear, in order this time, the mist disappears and the images became clear. After a few minutes they both awake in panic. They had become different people after all the things they had seen. The instant they see they are back they both shout in unison.“We have to find Spencer now, before it is too late!” They bolt out the door hoping that the angel of the vision could be found before it was to late for their best friend and the key piece to this dangerous puzzle they had just became a part of.
