As Kane walked out in the area, his lightsaber shot out of the hilt, and he spun it lightly, watching the brilliant silver of the blade. He waited for Jenno to enter the battle field, slowly entering an Ataru stance, as he was going to be fighting a single opponent. “Come, Jenno…”
It had been a long time since his last fight. Slowly, the hooded master stepped onto the arena. His arms were folded before him, and his eyes were covered by his deep hood. They spoke of great mysticism and wisdom, and yet he spoke no words.
At the edge of the area he proceeded to remove his cloak, slowly, as if unaware of the fight that was about to take place. Folded kneatly, he placed his cloak upon the ground, and straightened as he turned around. His eyes were sagged, and various other facial features drooped due to past years. Slowly he walked towards Kane, his footsteps echoing loudly in the calmness within him.
As he came to a standstill, Jenno took a hold of Green Dragon with his right hand. He held the metal lightly within his hand, looking at it in puzzlement for a moment. Had it really been that long since it had last been used?
With a hint of uncertainty, Jenno ignited his saber, holding it out in front of him. The Green Blade errupted from the hilt, as a volcano errupted from its sleepy berth. I. He closed his left eye and focused on the blade with only his right. After a few moments he moved his hand and grasped it solidly. He proceeded to cautiously twirl it with his hands, moving then to his sides, each time allowing the movements to grow more and more complex before he ceased completely. He stared down at the vibrating green of his blade and then up to his opponent, a smile slowly etching its way across his face. He took a long breath in before moving his right foot backwards, positioning himself into a long stance. He held Green Dragon behind him and held his left hand in front, and after a moment's pause he motioned for the attack. He hesitated only for a second, then muttered quietly, "Come."
Kane stood looking down, his long greasy black hair dangling in front of his face. He looked up slowly, watching the Jedi master strut into the arena, his cloak swaying as his walked, his hood covering most of his face. But Kane could sense that he had seen many battles, even without seeing his face. The force seemed to flow effortlessly through Jenno; there was no doubt that he was a master.
He watched as Jenno removed his cloak, and it was as if Jenno didn’t even realize he was about to fight. When he removed his hood, however, Kane knew that his assumptions were correct; he had seen many battles, and he was indeed a master of the force. Kane tightened his grip on the saber. “Jedi scum…” he hissed to himself. He watched Jenno as he made his way to the middle of the arena, as Jenno calmly grabbed his light saber, glancing at it only for a second before suddenly a green blade erupted out of the blade. He twirled the saber around, smiling at Kane, and in return Kane gave a disgusted look back. Jenno then took a fighting stance, exhaling and moving his right foot back as if he were taking a long stride. He motioned that he was now ready for anything that Kane was going to throw at him.
Kane stared him down with his icy blue eyes, but the action caused his long hair to reveal his face, showing a scar that was etched down the side of his face. Kane spun his saber as his brightly silver blade erupted outwards. “Let our blades clash with honor, Jedi.” Kane quickly inhaled and brought his left hand to the saber, shooting forwards towards Jenno. Kane swung low at Jenno's legs, trying to catch him off guard.
Jenno began to work his way into his battle phase. . He would need the force if he was to win today. And so, as he stood there his breathing slowed and with each breath he took in excessive amounts of oxygen, providing his body with the fuel it would need for the fight. He sank deep into the force, using it to sense his surroundings, and eventually within his mind rose the flickering movements of his adversary. A dark cloud surrounded Kane, where as Jenno was vibrant with an aura of the Light, as if he were a human avatar for the light side of the force.
He felt strong, his muscles and his mind sharpened and ready for action. He felt in an instant that even without the years of fighting he was more powerful than he had been, if only because of the force, his guide, his mentor. It sat as an observer, ready to step in and help whomever called for it. Jenno was ready to win. He waited in his stance, though it was an unusual one, with his legs bent and his feet apart. But still, it had its reasons. And as Kane moved it, the stance became a crutial part to Jenno's first swift move. In the time it had taken for Kane to reach him, Jenno had pivoted on his back leg, swinging around so that both his right leg and hand were now the closest to Kane, placing his saber squarely at Kane.
He slid forward in his stance, striking towards the right side of Kane's head with Green Dragon before thrusting it across at Kane's right leg. However, Kane's attacks were skilled in their subsequent defense, rendering his own attacks useless. Raising Green Dragon above his head, Jenno began to weave a trail of green as he spun around right and brought Green Dragon swooping in at Kane's torso.
Kane watched as Jenno entered his stance and darted towards him, and when he was close enough, Kane slashed towards Jenno. . He countered simply by moving swiftly, pivoting and swinging his saber so that it countered all of Jenno's moves. . Jenno was moving with blinding speed, but still he managed to see the green blade sprawling towards his head. Kane leaned to the left, the blade slicing a hairsbreadth his cheek. At the same time the blade swung towards his right leg, and so Kane brought his right leg back, spinning around Jenno while dodging the oncoming attack directed towards his chest.
Now Kane was facing Jenno's back, and before Jenno could move he brought his silver saber across Jenno's left shoulder with great intensity. “Meet your end, Jedi!”
Jenno saw through both the force and through his eyes as Kane avoided his attacks. Maybe it was too early to judge this Sith. And yet Jenno had faced many before, and so far the outcome had always been the same. His training as a young Jedi had paid off throughout his life, and he won a great deal of light saber duels. Many were close, yet somehow, he had always fared well. And now he had an extra decade or so under his belt. He still had a few secrets, though, up his sleeve. Quite literally, as a matter of fact. His sleeve did contain a secret weapon. And as Kane moved in for a surprise attack, the cool shiny surface of the weapon slid into his hand. He grasped it, wary for a moment before the feeling and memories came back to him.
As a padawan, he could sense his own skill was lacking, that there was something that had always let him down as he practiced. He constantly forgot to keep his left flank protected, and had the scars to prove it. Until he had gained this. From the hilt in his left hand the blue blade ignited with a loud hum as Blue Phoenix awoke from its slumber. Rebirth had been kind to his old saber, and he could still feel its power as he held it. The blade halted the attack and held the offending saber in its position. A smile spread across his face and he spoke out, just loud enough so that the Sith could here him. "Now, I wonder if you saw that coming."
Quickly Jenno lifted up his right leg and plummeted it behind him, straight towards the gut of the Sith. Jenno then rolled forward and turned on his heel, spinning both Green Dragon and Blue Phoenix within his hands before placing the blue blade vertically before him and Green Dragon over his head, facing Kane. His legs were bent in a short stance, and he had placed the majoritory of his weight on his back foot, allowing free movement with his front leg should Kane move in from the front.
Kane watched as the blue blade screamed out of the hilt,** Kane knew that Jenno had many more years under his belt. But Kane was Sith, and thus he had the dark side, even though Kane rather disliked how it seemed to control him. In a way he hated it, and in a way he loved it at as well. He loved the power it gave him, but he hated the lack of self-control.
Jenno lunged forwards and kicked Kane to the ground, then leapt away again. Kane jumped back onto his feet just as he saw the blue and green rip towards him, Jennos’ saber cutting across his just as he started to dodge away. He shook off the force of the blow, then twirled his saber and darted towards Jenno and slashed downwards. Jenno jumped back, but Kane had rolled under him and swung his blade as Jenno came back down.
Kane had won, but at what cost…
