Gold takes so long to accumulate when you don't have a specific thing you're doing on Gaia...I think I've gotten the hang of a few things, but I don't have much to do. I talk in the forum, and I submit art, as well as ccritique it...I just have no idea how people get the stuff that's like 40,000g...do they go to school, or work, or have friends? Maybe I'm missing the point.

Well, how about you set up shop and maybe oh...sell art commissions? I'm going to be paying someone like 11,000+ gold for a drawing of the characters Torment and Kalie. (As long as darker doesn't see this, I'm OK!)
You wanna know how people get gold, thats how. Plus the site gives out trunks/pink boxes/blue boxes, which you can either open or sell. I sold a bunch of mine to buy my purdy Nightmare Headband *points at teh wings* bought it for 28,000 gold.
Another thing you can do is play the item market. I payed 28k for these wings, I can now sell them and get a profit without trying.
Of course there are people with no life, Hey! Not me >.> <.<
Go look at Boopy's inventory...its absolutely ******** huge...
Feh, maybe if I have gold I could be your first customer of teh art and doomish! Or I could just throw like 3,000 at you for fun and listen to the sound it makes hitting you upside the head ^_^
