((Well....This is finished!)) The woman walked down the street, the streetlamps letting her see where she went. The moon was full, bathing everything in it's soft, loving, bluish glow, and the stars twinkled and were generally beautiful. On a night like this, the woman should be happy. But she wasn't. No matter where she went, she couldn't shake off the feeling that she was being watched. Then, a faint scratching noise inturrupted her thoughts. What was that? Maybe it was that car. No, there it was again! And that car had already driven by. Maybe.......Maybe she was just imagining it. Yeah....She was WAY too paranoid today. She relaxed a small bit, allowing herself a nervous laugh. On her normal route back to her house, she turned into a dark abandoned street, her heels clacking on the sidewalk. A noise, not unlike that of heavy metal being dragged across a rock, sounded from the middle of the street. She stopped and impulsively took a step back. The woman peered into the darkness, but saw nothing. She continued on her way, not entirely convinced that the noise had been a figment of her imagination. Then, the scratching noise came back, accompanied by squeaks and the rustling of fur. They poured out of the manhole in the middle of the street, their numbers in the hundreds of thousands. The woman screamed and ran into an alleyway, her pursuers close behind, like a tidal wave of small black furry bodies. She reached the end of the alleyway, only to find that it was a dead end! The rats jumped at her, pushing each other out of the way in order to get to her. There was nowhere to go.....
