Theory of Knowledge
What if everything you knew, believed in, thought was the absolute truth, was not actually truth at all, and was pulled apart and left your world upside down and inside out?

Pretty scary huh?

There is not thing that is absolute truth, there is no statement that is completely true.

Say: "The Sky is blue." - sounds pretty true to you doesn't it.

Is it really the sky?
Is it really blue?
Is that just your perception of color, where it might actually be green but you've been culturally programed to see that it's blue?
Is there even a sky?

Now you begin to wonder...you were absolutely certain that "the sky was blue" 2 seconds ago, now you're not so sure.

This is what I did on the weekend, on my Theory of Knowledge camp for school.

Sounds pretty scary, doesn't it...but that just my perception of it.
But am i really here to tell you this?
Are you really reading this?
Are we really just brains in a jar connected to something outside what you believe is real?

You decide.

well back in the day, my science teacher told me "evryone doesn't ee the same colours, they associate that colour with that name but they dont see the same shade," He meant like say i see green , its all green and stuff. but you see green and it looks like my red. he also said that the two ultimatums of each colour are viewed by all the same, hich means no matter who the person we all see black and white in the same colour, freaky concept eh?

We had a discussion in Composition coass today about truth, reality, perception, and where they converge/diverge. I had a blast. It made me think about you and this Journal so I figured I'd drop on by and post you a comment today. *hugs*

...lol matrix XD

"is that even air you're breathing?" =3

the "sky" is "blue" due to the ozone, silly XD believe it or not, when enough oxygen atoms are collected in a single space, they start to show up in a light blue hue. hence "sky blue" =3

the words "sky" and "blue", however, are only really labels that we, being human society, have given them in order to not call every single object "thing" XP

Haha, yes i stalked your journal, I dont know when you posted this entry but lately ive been thinking alot about this sorta thing too. My concept of it is, that we are indeed only seeing black and white constantly, our eyes evolved to see the small color spectrum, when its dark out we only see black, our eyes are decieving us, in fact we cant see anything but black because we dont have any source of light to reflect off of the surface of everything. Sorta like how a bat uses sound to see its surroundings, we need light rays to detrmine society.

Back to your side about us being programmed, your right, we see metal as a spoon or fork or knife, etc. Metal isnt more then a bunch of compunds synthesized into what we know, our minds from birth are synthesized, generation aftrer generation is synthesized into what we perceive as normal. A good example would be, driving a car on the road and stopping every now and again, why cant we drive without driving? what is containing us to keep potential hidden? why do we think? its all unanswered as far as we know, or we could know but just dont want to know?

The real scary thing is that our brains know they are there, waiting with un-benounced capability.
