Darkness Dreaming
Darkness,
Like imaginings in the night,
Bids softly, the demons flight
To take form,
Its twisted shape
Trailing endless nothing in its wake
And transforms
Precious into dull
And human flesh to bone and skull
Shadows sing unfathomable shame,
And with awful power, they sing its name
While feeding on the world of men
Sucking life
And draining color,
As if that life-dye could return again
But darkness,
With all its phantom pawns and woeful schemes
Can only hold you while you dream
