Here are some of the stories that I wrote at my Sci-fi fantasy camp. Some of them are not finished though. Hope you like them:
The lonely wizard
One day everybody in the world lost their snacks from the Asian Market. The Asian market waas some how robbed of all their goods. No one knows exactly who did it, but a rumor had spread across town that the creatures from the forest were invovled. the fairies always loved to play tircks on humans. Most of the time they would steal important thing like credit cards or cell phones. Some believe that it was the goblins.
They were cruel, ugly, creatures that no one would ever go near. It is said that the goblins would come into town at night stealing all the snacks that people loved. Personally, I believed that it was the wizard who lived in the old shack in the hills. he seemed some what troubled. The story says that he was banished from this town by the council of elders. They believed that his powers were the work of the devil. I think he was just trying to be himself. I saw him once at the fruit stand. A cloak draped over one shoulder with his pet dragon on the other. Most people fear him, but I don't.
His eyes look so sad as if no one in the world loves or needs him. I think he just wanted to belong. That night, as the moon came up, I snook out of my room into the forest. I walked through trees and bushes and noticed everything was silent. i was sure that the magical creatures would awaken. No owls to stare at you, no wolves howling at the moon. Now even a sound of the goblins. I lost track of time as I guided myself through the trees. A light appeared from a distance suddenly. It startled me quite a bit. As i walked closer to it, I was him once more. The wizard. He was dancing or doing some magical ceremony. I was at the window of the home when I realised he ws casting a spell. Things were flying in the air, dancing into a black pot. It seemed like fun to live with such a power.
Then everything stopped. The items fell to the ground in mid-air with a thud and finally I realized that he was gone. ' What if he saw me,' I thought trying to think of an escape plan. As I whirled around, I came face to face with him. His appearance was different somehow. Mad or worried, I couldn't tell. He looked no older that myself.
"What are you doing hear," his soft voice barley murmured. My mind was blank. I couldn't think of anything to say. " They'll punish you if they find you here," He spoke. " I...I...I," stumbling over my words, I stood their in fear. For the first time in my life I was afraid of him. What would he do to me? Wwas I destained to be his slave? I really didn't know. " I came for our Asian snacks." Finally I said something.
" You may not have them," he replied. " But, why not," I questioned podering over what his use of them was.
" The towns people treat me like dirt. they deserve to have something stolen away that is precious."
" Why do you hate us so much," i asked. " do you know what it feels like to be alone? to have no friends?"
" I'll be your friend," i offered not even thinking of what I was doing. he gave me a puzzled look and then a soft smile escaped his face.
" Why don't you come in for a cup of tea," he offered. I smiled at him taking his hand in mine, walking into the shack.
" You know most people don't een like Asain food," I told him. He just stood thier for a minute.
" What a waste," he said entering his home witha new found friend.
Elf Dinner
Amari sat down at the round table inside the small home. A plate was sat in front of her. Pork from the best pig around, potatoes made to perfection, and fluffy bread that melted in your mouth. She took a bite of the bread and was amazed. If she did not have the elves in front of her, she would have squelled with delight.
" Is it that delicious?" Jake the youngest of the elves asked. Amari didn't relize that it showed on her face. She nodded her head ' yes', feeling the heat on her cheeks. Sitting here at the table with strangers seemed weird but homey at the same time. At home, Amari never had time to sit and eat with her parents. They were always so busy with work or something. But these elves who had taken her in without any consideration were like a real family that she could trust.
" Amari, Amari," came the voice of the second youngest Emily, " Will youpaly with me after dinner?"
" O..K," Amari was slow with her answer. It may not look it but Emily was far older than Amari. 30 years to be exact. The fact that she still played games made Amari confused. She quessed since Emily was the only girl that she was glad that someone was here to confort her.
" I think my brother has a crush on you," Emily whispered to Amari. The heat from Amari's cheekc were probaly visable now since everyone was staring at her.
" What did you say twerp," boomed Carter. He stood up from his seat, flushed just as much as Amari. Emily ren up the atirs to her room. Carter started to after her when Amari suddenly burst into laughter. Jake joined in too." Are you laughing at me," Carter questioned.
" No, it's just that you really seem like a happey family," Amari answered.
" You can be part of our family too," Jake chirped.
I might go some where with that one.
The Future with out "s"
Stephanie walked to the street with the futuristic girl who said her name was Morena. To see all the cars in the sky was confusing. Looking aorund everything was confusing.
" What did you say your name was again," Morena asked.
" My name is Stephanie."
" Tephanie? That's a weird name. Iz it foreign?"
" No my name is Stephanie, with an S." Morena cocked her head to the side." Huh?"
" You know the letter S. It looks like a swirl." Stephanie tried to explain.
" I've never heard of that letter," morena pondered on the thought," Maybe Izac would know. He knowz everything."
Stephanie thought this girl was dense or just plain stupid. who has never heard of the letter s? Then again Morena was pronouncing all her s's like z's.
" Do you know your alphabet," Stephanie asked curious of what this new world held in store for her.
" Zure do," Morena answered," Letz zee- a, b, c, d, e, fey, gey, h, i, j, k, ley, mey, n, o, p, qey, r, z, t, uey, vey, w, x, y, zey."
"What? That's not it."
" Yez it iz. What planet do you live on ? The moon?" Morena walked a few steps then was floating in the air." Come on , Izac iz probaly waiting."
" Um... I can't fly," Stephanie looked at her shoes than up at Morena.
" What do you mean you can't fly. Everyone knowz how to fly. What year were you born," Morena said getting angry at how obsoliet this girl weemed to be.
" 1990. Why?" Morena stopped dead in mid-air. There was no way this girl was from that time. It was the year 3050, she would have to be over a hundred years old. Even in their environment, time traveling was very hard.
" Prove it." Stephanie pulled out her dog tag that had her name on it with her birthdate and showed it to Morena.
" That explainz why your name zoundz zo weird."
" Um... Thanks I guess."
" We got rid of the letter 'S' yearz agoe az I've heard."
