Look at the rose
Alone in the bush
Its crimson red petals wilting away
Its thorns dripping hate
No mortal eye can see
I watch the moonless sky
Wondering the "thing" I am to one day become
And see myself reflected in a lone rose
A rose whose petals resemble so well
The crimson color that I shed
While black tears stream
This rose resembled my soul,
Its solitude, loneliness
Reminding me all to much
of the days spent without you
But there is nothing to do but watch
Watch you smile with her
Laugh with her,
Hug and kiss her
And listen to my heart shatter,
Notice it fall and not run to its aid
Sitting,
Watching,
Listening.
It was too much to bear
A knife, so simple to reach plunged into
My heart
A hand reaches out to the rose,
One I recognize as my own
Carresing its soft petals
Cutting fingers on its thorns
Cold lips form a grim smile,
Frozen hands holding the rose to my heart
As the ground soaks in Crimson
No one came.
No one knew
Nothing understood
I screamed my soul
But was never heard
I whispered my insecurities,
no one wondered.
The things I say I say in silence
And will forever remain
In that dark silence
Staring into a lightless sky,
my only company a lone rose
A rose
whose Crimson petals wilt away slowly
A rose
whose thorns drip with hate no human could dream
