The logs of a developer
A series of interesting entries about my life, similar to an autobiography.
Chapter 1: Analyzing Gaia's 2010's code...
Its no secret that after all these years, GAIA online code has not been optimized to new standards, most notable the user profiles(Similar to a webpage/blog hybrid that reminds people how metroblog, myspace and blogger used to look like back in the day... good times indeed). User profiles where the BOMB back in the day, as it was the closest thing to a social webfront for each user on this platform(I mean the ability to leave comments directly on your profile became the defacto standard on steam... wonder where they got the idea?... hmm....), because of this, may users back in the day used to do one of the following two:

1.- Create their own Theme.
2.- Copy/paste publicly available code to use on their profile.

Wait... you mean we could and we still can customize our profiles? SIGN ME UP!
... as if it where simple enough... you can only customize the position of blocks and change the CSS of the page. nothing more, nothing less... for some this might be enough... but for me, or maybe a few more people it isn't.

Well... there are ways to customize more that just CSS, but i feel that would be breaching the contracts we digitally signed when we ticked the "I have read the terms of service" checkbox during the signup process... WHICH they may or may not have been updated in years (hint hint... they probably haven't or if they did... its because the EU made them to... HA... GDPR anyone?).

Well... i'm willing to actually use my skills to create an updated codebase for profiles... HOWEVER this might take time. i'm in no way or form associated with GAIA entertainment, nor i'm employed by them. this is something that i will do on my own to prove that the community CAN help revive the platform in different ways... Starting for making this website responsive, and friendlier for mobile devices of today.

For my first trick i will perform a custom CSS update for profiles, using the defacto standard theme, AND i will add comments to it so people can have this as a user GUIDE to customizing profiles(like a for dummies type of thing).
