He felt like Alyssa didn't want anything to do with him either way, and perhaps a break for it all might help to clear his head.  Lord must have known that all the whisky and other spirits weren't doing him a bit of good.

He fell on his hands and knees.  He was making a scene.  He slammed his fist hard into the floor.  He mentally told himself to snap out of it, to man up, to at least look like he had some of it together.  He was in the presence of his niece and her children.  He had to set a good example for them all.  He forced himself to stand back up.  Iain gritted his teeth together and clenched both of his hands into fists.

The Scot paid a visit to his niece. He wanted to say goodbye before he left to be alone and miserable for the remainder of the existence of this world. At least, that was how he felt.

"Awrite thaur, mah wee niece. Ah jist stopped by tae say cheerio th' noo. Ah doobt yoo'll see me aroond efter thes. Yer aunt Weels an' Ah...we're gettin' a divorce."

The red head sighed and patted his neice on the head. There was nothing that could be done. It was for the best that they parted ways after all.
