you can let about 2-3 of ur people die (lower their health past sick) to make it easier

ok this is what i did.... pace=normal rations=meager.... comtinue til they get down to sick/poor health... and then health for 5 days (bettter than 3 day + 1 day b/c of amount of food consumption)

take all shortcuts...

before going into short cut fill ship (any is fine) completely with food.... to do this hunt (only kill grunnies, lobster/crab thing, elk, or buffalo)---save and quit--- continue journey--- hunt--- save and quit--- etc til you have enough food....

if carl is ur captain... DONT KILL ELK!
