No, that's right. It's just that the reason that it says that in the song was because the Beatles had learned Transcendental Meditation from Maharishi, and Guru Dev (divine teacher is one translation, or as you said) was Maharishi's teacher. So in Maharishi's group Jai Guru Dev (glory to guru dev) is like a greating sort of, giving thanks to his teacher for his knowledge. Anyways, I was just curious if you knew about that since I go to a college founded by Maharishi, so I hear the phrase Jai Guru Dev a lot.



Anyway, It is a lovely line and a lovely song ^_^ And for some reason a lot of people seem to think it's about drugs... o_O sure many of their songs are, but not that one!



Sorry if that explanation was unwarrented >_< I just was inspired to talk about it since I saw your signature ^_^;

Hello. Apart from being a line in an incredibly good song, I was wondering if you know what Jai Guru Deva Om actually means? It seems not many do, and since it's in your signature I was just curious if you knew about Guru Dev and all that.
