Oh, profiles I can give advice on easier. xD; I always draw on paper, first, what layout I want it to have. It's faster on paper than on the computer. Then you lay down the blocks (or circles, or whatever way you're going to contain your content) in the places you want them in photoshop or whatever program you use and design around them. Don't forget to make them on separate layers so you can move them if need be. xD; I usually don't pick my colors until I've decided where all my brushwork will go. Then, for colors, it's best to choose two colors that compliment each other, and then the rest of the colors can be shades/gradients of them.. I dunno how much that helps with your profiling, but that's what I do. xD;

Masterpiece? xD Haha... I don't really have anything masterful in my gallery. But I'm flattered you thought so. I generally just... draw. I mean, I don't know how to explain it. Sketch it out, do the lineart, and then color it in. I don't think there's anything I can really teach you that you won't hear everywhere else. If I make some sort of tutorial I'll PM it to you if you like.
