I guess not. It's so annoying for me, though; I always have to show my ID at the movies. I hate it.

But anyway... any special plans today? Any gifts yet?

Yeah, I wasn't too thrilled either. It's just another year. But hey; 18 has its perks.

Unless people still think you're 15, like me. gonk

Lit's not the most exciting right now. =/ None of my other classes are, either. In fact, my schedule pretty much sucks. And it will for a while, up until next semester, I hope.

I'm procrastinating now, though. Dinner's almost ready and this freaking story needs to end. I don't know what it is, but after working on it for over a year, I just want it over with. D: It's a great attitude to end a book with.

Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad. It's short, but it's all a retelling, so the guy's incessantly talking and exaggerrating and you don't know what to believe and get only half of the story etc etc.

Tell me about it. This year's book theme seems to be indecipherable, mind-melting, philosophical, psychological crap. I can barely get through a paragraph without nodding off because I have no idea what the heck is going on.

Well, I'm trying to finish this chapter of my book, then I'm going to read some of this stupid book and then some math homework.

No, I haven't watched TV at all lately, minus the election. I'll be sure to look it up, though.

Hah, I love that everyone is comfortable assuming so.

Truthfully, I was pretty exciting election night. I won't go into great detail, but my actions then support that statement rather well. I'm trying my best not to get my hopes up, though. Obama stands for so much to so many people, and it is his presidency that will make or break this entire race revolution thing going on. I can't imagine the pressure he's already feeling because he has so many expectations to live up to, and if he doesn't do a good job, I doubt another African American will get elected any time soon--not at all trying to sound racist.

I don't want people to think I think he's the perfect person, either. Both McCain and Obama had their perks, but I felt Obama was the lesser of two evils, as you've heard me say over and over again. The McCain bandwagon was just too unstable, too risky for my tastes. He just seemed very untrustworthy, with his flip-flopping and poor choice of a running mate. Sarah Palin was what killed him for me. I'm just glad she's out of the picture for now. Apparently upon her return to Alaska, a crowd of rabid fans encouraged her to run for president in four years.

I am very excited, though, to see how everything plays out. I really do hope he does a wonderful job, and I truly believe he has the capacity to do so. Like a well-known Republican said (I'm kicking myself for not knowing his name), if Obama runs the country like he did his campaign, then I'm not very worried.

No, I was just curious. I wanted to ask you about the election results, though. Your thoughts?

It was sarcasm. But your frequency still does make me think. Field hockey over? I know the lack of drama club probably gave you back a lot of time.

You're on so early and so often lately that I'm starting to get concerned.
