Actually there are a lot of different English accents. You can't compare Tom Hollander's posh accent to Alan Moore's gruff one nor to Billie Piper's cocka-can'texactlyrememberwhatit'scalled accent.

The one I was doing sounded like Moore's and a bit like a pirate would talk.
