ah yes, well, but most seem to have similar plot lines

im talking about vampires and how you, the emo girl, will fall in love will them. make NO differentiation between you and your main character at all, then have you/them fall heads over heels in love with a sexy a** vampire that is WAY into whiny bullshitting girls. oh YAH!

You're re-writing when it was already so good? Damn.. There's nothing wrong with being a perfectionist though, at least it means you're always striving to improve yourself. Although sometimes I just look at what I've written, knowing I've got to re-write and I just despair thinking that it's not worth saving any of it. So perfectionist is good as long as it doesn't come with a massive dose of pessimism. XD

Ooh a Hitchcock fan? I only read Strangers on a Train 'cause I saw his film of it. I've gotten into other books because of him too. =) I haven't seen that many of his films though due to low finances, but one day...
Oh dear, it's horrible when you get someone in your head and they start messing up your characters. You'll have to find a way of exorcising Mr McDowell or something...

I know the exact feeling, I recently decided to go back on my work right now and edit the first 19 chapters. I was so frustrated at the beginning of that. Also, I recently read a "book" i wrote in the 6th grade that I got 110% on and I was like "What the hell was I doing? This is generic, uneventful and crap." but thats how it is I guess.

and no problem, its rare that I get to marvel over someones work like that. Thanks!

thats very true, I had my first few chapters on quizilla, but as I edited them, I just took them off the damn thing. Too many stories stolen.

The 'writer is their own worst critic' thing is the worst.. Sometimes I wish I -was- some over-sensitive 13 year old whiny emo girl and then at least I would know what it feels like to have unwavering confidence in my own work. Hmm.. on second thoughts, I think I'd prefer to just remain being hard on myself. XP

Bishop sounds like a wonderfully charming brat... Just the sort of character I like. I've always tried to make up my own sort of character like that (Bruno from Strangers on a Train is like the epitome of character wonderfulness for me) but I don't think I'm devious enough in my own life to be able to write a believable character like it, goshdarn it all. XD
