The stars do not rise and set for us. In this day and age during, the era of the "Internet", we are more fortunate than others in knowing our relevance to the greater cogs at work, yet we do not embrace these truths willingly.Our gaze needs not be fixed towards the stars to understand our significance. Though for those of us who do, it is the greatest reminder the universe has encompassing its immense indifference.
A dot. "On it everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives. The aggregate of our joy and suffering, thousands of confident religions, ideologies, and economic doctrines, every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilization, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every mother and father, hopeful child, inventor and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every "superstar," every "supreme leader," every saint and sinner in the history of our species lived there-on a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam."
Our greatest minds, since Newton and Copernicus and Galileo, have questioned our meaning and existence. Over the last few years, I've spent my time versing and comparing what I knew against my predecessors. Despite our differences, I hold as they do the most precious life has to offer; TRUTH.
