Berryz!Koubou and C-ute are really popular of them, even though Morning Musume's been there longer; C-ute focuses more on cutsey-type things than serious-like, Berryz is more of in-between adorable and serious, and Momosu varies in serious and exciting...
There's several soloists, but most perform other's songs, within the company; few actually have their own songs...
Then, there's a lot of One-shot groups (along with groups for animes' openings and endings), as well as the Shuffle Units within 2000 and 2005. =3

It's pretty much just a step-up from RPs... some people will be able to play a game, while RPing, without downloading stuff?
