I was using a walkthrough for parts of it and the guy who wrote it had a theory that they both died and that was their afterlife thing. He also said that he reckoned the reason she fell before the gate closed was because she needed the other horned-boys' power to survive [because that castle was where the village always put them] and so she couldn't leave so I reckon thgat she szurvived because of Ico...because he's a horned-boy...>.>
Have you played "Shadow of the Colossus"? That's the prequel, I waant iit >.<
The third one is apparently called "The Queen", there is a chance that that was a fake though ^^;

Gaaah! I just finished Ico...It made no sense...but was still pretty amazing.
Also, the shortest game I've ever played. SOmething like 8/9 hours. Then again, I've had it since 2003-ish...I gave up on it lots ^^;
Now, I need to play the prequel B]
There's also a third one coming out *o*....but it's for the ps3 apparently Dx
