....Funny thing is my parents are pushing me to become a lawyer also...even though I'm not interested in doing that as a career. They are telling me the exact same thing your parents told you..even though I know that's something that I have a passion for and really want to do after college.

Wow....that is one very stupid teacher..and it sucks that you are in a room full of freshmen! We had something close to step up day happen at my school; I am going to be taking AP( Advanced Placement) classes next year..so um I had to sit thru this lecture about how important it was to pass the class, how it weighed more than regular grades because it is a college course..even though I already knew that..And people were acting all amazed, especially the teachers cause some of them were like well are you sure you can handle it?? And I got sorta pissed cause if I didn't think I could handle it I wouldn't have signed up for it, right?
Now my parents are getting on me too cause they want to know right now what I plan on doing as a career...
