I have heard of Monster, not watched yet, the only thing in anime thatsort of can bug me at times is the dark tone being broken by some random silliness that is jarring, sometimes it works but other times it's like whyyyyyy

Do you have a favorite Book? One of mine is called Blood Meridian, it's very dark and probably the most violent book I ever read but it's fascinating, though it takes a bit to get used to the writing style

you might like Requiem For A Phantom, Another is pretty good, I loved Drifters, Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress I enjoyed enough I watched it subbed
