I'm more interested in stochastic calculus and measure theory at the moment, but it can change from time to time. Differential geometry also intrigues me.

Well, I think most any writer would be really intent about his/her writing. I'm no different in that respect really. I mostly read nonfiction like periodicals and field journals. I haven't had the luxury of reading fiction in quite a while. If I can think of any good books I'll be sure to let you know.

I write novels within the genre of epic fantasy primarily. I've worked on two that have passed the 100k word count. I also write poetry but usually just as an interlude from story writing.

That sort of plot sounds a bit generic but I don't know if I'd call it cheesy. It's all in the particulars when it comes to storytelling. I don't know if I'm far more intellectual than your friends. I just think I have a few sensible things to say, especially on the subject of writing.

Sorry for the late reply and thanks for the comment. I do a lot of writing in my free time and, as such, I think you could consider me to be sort of poetic. I watch a lot of anime since I think Japanese storytelling is superior to Western storytelling without question. At a friend's recommendation, I am currently looking into the series Fate/Stay Night.
