This symbol: ｰ
holds the ending sound so Ka would become Kaa (カｰ)
And the small tsu: ッ
Holds the beginning noise so Kakku would look like this: カック
And this: ･
is just separating foreign words...
Holy... I'm forgetting important things...
Katakana is used to represent foreign words...

When ordering from a restaurant (Ex. McDonald's)
If you want a hamburger you would look for the characters like this:

ハンバｰガｰ (HanBaagaa)

If you would like to order fries with it you would look for:

ポテト･フライ (Poteto Furai)

And for a drink, say you want Coca Cola, you would look for:

コｰラｰ (KooRaa)

*I realized you can't see the Maru good, it's just a small circle.

There are other characters you can use in Katakana and in Hiragana as well.
The "maru" (゜) and the "ten ten" (ﾞ).
These symbols can only be used on certain characters which are:
The Ka row.
Ka with a ten ten would become Ga. (ガ)
Ki would be Gi... etc. (ギ)
You can use the ten ten on the Sa row as well.
Sa would become Za... etc. (ザ)
With the exception of Shi (シ) would become Ji. (ジ)
You can use the Ta row too.
Ta would become Da. (ダ) Etc.
Chi would become Di or Zi. (ヂ)
The Ha row is the only row that can use the ten ten and the maru.
Maru is and cannot used anywhere else except this row.
Ha, with a ten ten would become Ba (バ)
Ha, with a maru however, would become Pa (パ)
Etc...
