Yeah I think I will order it, it'll take like what.. a maximum of a week or so to get here? And its not like we're operating under any sort of a deadline.
Dosn't like blues? Ugh, well don't worry, I'm sure one day he'll grow up and realise how silly hes being ;P Django Reinhardt is a good person to be listening to though, very melodic and inventive. Funny to think he only had two fully functioning fingers on his fretting hand! Hes better than many who have full use of their entire hand! razz I actually did his tune "Nuages" for my recital last year, it went down pretty well actually, which was good cos it helped me get settled in that regard after a few of the earlier ones hadn't gone 100%.
Birthday today razz No idea what I'm going to get up to, maybe inspiration will strike and I'll write some good stuff.

Glad to hear you and your remaining pupils might be moving on to something more stimulating XD my guitar teacher is pushing me in the direction of getting some grades with a view towards me maybe being able to teach myself. I'd have to do the grade 8 exam before doing actually going for the teaching qualifications, he figures I could drop in at around grade 5 or 6 or so. Anyways with that in mind I went into town to pick up one of the books and the bleedin' things were 18 euros or so! He'd told me theyd probably be "around a tenner" so I was really annoyed at the shop. Whats even crazier is that the books weren't consistently priced, the lower grades were sometimes more expensive while the upper ones could be cheaper and vice-versa. I asked the shop attendants and got the usual blank guppy fish stares *rolls eyes* I'll have to try and find someone who can give me a lend of them or something, because I'm not paying exorbant mark ups for 18 pages of chord sheets etc.

Well I'm still young and stupid so maybe with a bit of blind luck the performance thing will work out User Image

I'm still mincing away with my own material and trying to hammer out a few full songs with it... its going a bit slow but at least its moving, I do sometimes wish I had a writing partner of some kind <.<

Yeah I'm aware I'd have to work my way up the food chain when it comes to journalism but it was something I really enjoyed doing in college so I suppose I don't mind too much. Although a constant slew of crappy bands might really make me question why I'm bothering in the first place! Haha! Well, I've always tried to ask interesting questions and do a bit of research on the band in question so as to make sure my reviews and interviews weren't just repeating PR and propaganda from the record companies User Image

I hope I can keep that going.

I take it your class isn't the greatest this year then? XD Do you ever have a bunch of students that you enjoy? User Image

well I'd obviously like to try making a living at performing User Image

but on a sliiightly more practical level I'm thinking of putting together a portfolio of the articles, interviews and reviews I did for the school newspaper and maybe trying to get into music journalism or something. Not sure how willing they'll be for new people in the current ecconomic climate but hey, it dosn't hurt to try, eh? User Image

Heyo michelle :] yeah I've been fine, working on music and the band and alla that good stuff. I graduated from college too, which is really cool. I now have a bachelors in Music and Irish Folklore, how cool is that? User Image

My friend that's concert master has a violin worth 3k, and my private teacher has one worth 20k. They both sound really good.

I take private lessons and I'm in the school orchestra. You sound super pro, and I sound TERRIBLE compared to you. But one thing, I LOVE vibrato. XD I'm on Suzuki Book 4.
