Meh, it's pretty normal to project your self and your experiences onto unkown social horizons.

No, they weren't; just because you're all about putting on an act doesn't mean the rest of the world does. Besides, I'm thirty-seven and have lived on two continents and been in social environments ranging from beneath freeway overpasses to parties in rich suburbs, so I'm pretty sure I've encountered enough people to have sampled considerably in terms of demographics.

I dunno about that: I've met some incredibly doltish types who seemed to not know much about anything.

I don't think intelligence is anything that can be measured, not in the sense of a static baseline and universally applicable characteristic. I don't care anymore bout being smart, really; I'm perfectly fine with being curious, knowing things, forgetting and making mistakes, and ocasionally having lucky guesses.

Sounds like another arow for a quiver of needless other-comparison-based denigration. I'm supposed to be a genius, too, as anyone tested with an IQ over 150 is supposed to be .... and, for the longest time it was important to me, to the point where I cultivated a bad habit of thinking disparagingly of others and their intelligences; all I was really doing was blating myself in response to a profound sense of shame and inadequacy. A good life can be led without any such concerns, and in fact it would probably be best to learn to be decent, live how one likes, get along with others, and enjoy simple pleasures than to chase after zephyrs.

Age is a silly thing for people to be arbitrary about. I mean, really, things like maturity and intelligence aren't even well-defined and agree-upon concepts, but even so people are so different in terms of personality, intelligence, interests, pragmaticism or idealism, social involvement, relationship approaches, and so many other things, that you can have high-school sweethearts sitting next to a nursing home couple sitting next to an age-disparate one like say with me and you (an example), and they'd each be equally loving couples who would be living three very different lives but each of which is suited for each couple.

People are processes, except those who choose to be either incurious or who dig in their heels and try to take root. It wasn't until very recently that I figured out where I'd like to be in this world, and I'm thirty-seven now.

Hmm, that's a pretty interesting subject.

Sorry for the terse responses, but I'm trying to figure out Linux PS1 emulation, and it's a pain when I have to transport files back and forth to and from library computers.

Somewhat; I forget people very easily, actually, until they eventually create an indelible mark on my psyche. We can just start all over again if you'd prefer?

Which class was it? I love to learn but have always hated being spoonfed at the pace of the lowest common denominator, and being around a bunch of people crammed into a room.

cat_smile I would like to. *ugh* I'm like ... so braindead and lazy today. Got a couple free cocktails last night, too: a raspberry cosmo and some experimental one featuring saffron-infused vodka that was free because the bartender wanted my opinion of it, which was that he ought to use less bitters.

There must be someone you can tell sad
Just one really good friend who will never tell anyone. That friend will go with you and will stand by your side always smile

How cold is snow? D:
I usually start freezing my butt off at 70F degrees gonk
The coldest I ever been in was... I think was at 50 something more or less. I couldnt even last 2 seconds outside without a thick jacket gonk
Btw the captcha says Cold Turkey....coincidence much? lol

I love sleeping thru thunderstorms. Since my bed is right besides my window, i usually keep em open, and the mist from the rain gets into my room and is refreshing 4laugh

Well what if you go to the police on your own? Or get a friend to go with you. When your parents find out, explain why you were afraid to tell them. That could warm their hearts towards the situation.

Is it bad that i've never seen snow in my life? Someone needs to mail me some snow so I can make a little ball and throw it at someone's face before it melts lol.
Tropical storms are fun if you actually like rain and thunder lol. Altho there's barely any thundering, but there's LOTS of rain and wind biggrin

I'd be scared of my parents as well, not gonna lie. But i'd try to tell them as calmly as possible, apologizing for not having listened to them sad

And yes, any distraction will be okay 3nodding
Where in Canadia do you live? Im down south in Puerto Rico and we have a tropical storm expected to hit us tonight. So im kinda iffy about it since the last one that hit, Irene, kept us without electricity and water without 3 days gonk

Well it will help you unload all those emotions you must have as a result of it all. Someone replied on your thread stating you should go to the police about it. I do agree on that. But only when you feel ready for it. It could prove to be overwhelming if you're still feeling bad because of what happened.

Like I said tho, If you want to vent it all out, I'll be more than glad to help and try to help you feel better 3nodding
