It is nice having two people that can share the driving duties, it would be three, but between some sensory issues, and my lack of ability to hear on one side, I am afraid I would be more a danger than good at driving.

I think the only reason I live here is because the corporation that my primary partner's family owns, owns this place. Needed a place to live, that I could afford, and this place worked out. It was an adjustment not being able to walk to a store or anything, but I am doing my best in spite of. I will likely never drive, but my partner and their other partner are able to drive, so it is not that bad.

They both have their advantages. Out here it is quiet, and not a lot of people to bother me, but easier to also develop cabin fever, as there is not much to see after a while. In the city, I can walk to new things a lot easier, or take a transit. I cannot out here, and with out the ability to drive, most things are at the limits of my walking ability(About eight hours...) So you can understand how it is a mixed bag. When we have resources and such, it is just fine though.

Though it has been over 20 years since I lived there, I had that experience when I lived in Seattle. Currently I live in the middle of nowhere though, in a very rural foresty area, and unfortunately with out those late night all night businesses, I have to spend a lot of time and energy getting stuff done. So the hatred is shared here, preferred those 3 am runs where you were unlikely to run into anyone other than an employee, and able to have a nice, quiet, store run.

Agreed on so much of that, being nocturnal, the world feels more apt, the moons light feels like a wonderful guide to get things done, and people are not as loud, the world is not as oppressive. That being said, I would also love if we got back pre-covid business times, so I could do my grocery shopping when I am awake at 3am, instead of in the middle of the afternoon. Being normal is overrated.
