Oh, it's nothing against miners. But Fagersta is a really small mining town and if your family doesn't work in the business than it's hard to get a job there.
Well, you start learning it when you're pretty young, so it's kind of like you just grow up with it. Because everyone here speaks English and Swedish, so you just kind of grow up bilingual, you know?
Yea, that's the thing about Sweden. Everyone is really polite and trys to not offend people. I have a very un-Swedish sense of humor and am considered rather crass. But like, say someone from America comes over here to learn Swedish, the people here would speak English to that person to be polite and even though that person is trying to learn Swedish, our response would be like "Why?"
Plus, we have this social system here called Jantelagen, which basically means that no one can think of themselves as being better than anyone else.
An example would be like if a celebrity or someone was walking down the street, no one could walk up and be like "OMG YOU'RE SO AMAZING!" because they aren't supposed to be better than anyone else. So if Swedish celebrities are out walking, they are generally granted a rather large berth. It's kind of like a double edged sword though, because it almost feels like you shouldn't feel happy for people sometimes.
We're also rather modest and humble. Have you ever been to Minnesota? It's kind of like their "Minnesota Nice" thing.
But I hear that a lot from people, so it's not that unusual.

Well, English is mandatory to be taught in our schools, so it is very rare that you will meet one who doesn't speak it.
I used to live in Fagersta, but it's a small town and you can't get a job unless your parents work in the central mining industry. My parents didn't, so I moved to Stockholm. Plus, Fagersta drove me batshit insane o.O
