Excited? Yeah... and kinda nervous, too. Not really sure why. I don't think I'll participate in all the teen angst junk everyone else does; I don't now, so why would I in six months? As far as math goes, I'm doing algebra, and it's actually pretty fun. They're just puzzles. I like puzzles. ^_^

I'm not a huge fan of science. I find it often messes up the beauty of the natural world. I mean, now that I know all about the reproductive systems of trees ( ), I've never been able to look at trees the same way since. You're graduating? I'm so happy for you!! That'll be really cool. I don't know what was wrong with Kate, probably just hormones or something. It's not that I'm going to a different school, it's that next schoolyear I start high school.

Good. I just finished the best book I've ever read a couple days ago, "The Book Thief", by Markus Zusak. It's about a girl living during the Holocaust, who steals a couple of books from Nazi book-burnings (thus the title), and whose foster family hides a Jew in their basement. You should definitely read it, even if you don't like the subject, just for its great characters and poetic writing-- it's narrated by Death, too. ^_^ A Holocaust survivor came to talk at our school today. Her name's Noemi, and she's probably in her 80s now. She lived in Hungary, and was brought to Auschwitz when she was 19. She got out either three or five years later; I can't quite remember which. Great sense of humour, too. A really great person. It's such an honour to have met her. We've been doing science experiments, and mine's on wind turbines. We were supposed to have the final drafts of our papers about the experiments in on Friday, but I got it in today. I'm very pleased with myself. ^_^ These last two weeks have been pretty hard for my sister; she's been biting herself, kicking things, screaming... (she's autistic, remember?) I think she's finally over all that now, which is such a relief. I was pretty much always in my room whenever she was around. There was an information night at one of the high schools in my town yesterday, and it wasn't terribly helpful, but I am definitely going to that school. My mom's already signed the papers. My dad really wants me to go to the school that's near the house-- it's literally on the other side of the fence-- but I'd much rather go to the other school. There's an information night at the school by my house tonight, and my dad really wants me to go to it, but it starts at the same time as my piano lesson, so I can't go. Didn't really want to, anyway. So, anyway, how've you been?
