Steph sighed, relieved that at least one of the Waynes was around. She wondered what had compelled them to put her and Tim's costumes together, but completely forgot that train of though when this Batman walked over. Taking a step back, she gasped, realizing he looked just like Tim. Maybe the eyes were a little...Bruce. Damian. They were Wayne eyes, no doubt in her mind, but other than that he was perfectly Timlike. Which made her think for a moment...this wasn't Damian, was it? No...he'd said they were fifty years in the future. D would be an old man by now, not a teenage boy. Or so she hoped. Maybe he'd been thrown in a Lazarus pit, for all she knew. "Damian...?" Batgirl questioned, taking another step back until she hit Tim's costume.

Old man? Steph thought to herself, stepping from the Batmobile cautiously. He knew where the Batcave was...that was a good sign, at least one that he was accepted by Bruce, or whoever was in control here now. She'd have to be very careful...didn't need to cause any rifts in the way time and reaction was organized here. Low profile, Brown. Low profile. Right. As if she could manage that. She's was Stephanie Brown, for crying out loud. Obnoxious spazziness was her game. Walking down the corridors, she eyes the number of artifacts that seemed to be much newer than when she was last in the Cave in her time. Tim's Red Robin suit, in the same case as her...Spoiler one. Huh. So that was how that would end, she guessed. She couldn't help herself, stopping to touch the thick crystal, peering in as though her own future would come to her from that.

DIfferent being...all of this. And this new Batman. And...wait. "So...if this is fifty years in the future...am I still alive? Is Bruce still alive?" Another question would have been if Tim and Damian were still alive, but we didn't need to deal with all of that right now. Bruce better have been alive, and she really hoped she was still walking the earth. Though...wasn't to eager to run into a doppelganger. Not one bit.

Steph gaped around for a moment, taking in the fresh newness of it all as she found herself climbing into the Batmobile. Batplane. Batwing? What was this? What was this place? It was Gotham, but...not. Her city, but better, more modern, more...shiny. Steph stopped herself from openly admitting she had no idea what was going on, instead settling into the seat she'd been given, pulling her cowl back with a sigh. "This isn't 2011 anymore, is it?" she asked, plucking off her gloves and laying them in her lap as she ran her fingers through her hair, shaking it loose from the constriction her cowl put on it.

"It's 2011. What else would it be?" Steph replied warily, letting him continue gripping her wrists as her own mind wandered. What year was it? What kind of a question was that? "Who do you even work for, Batsy? If that is your real name..." Ugh. Where was the brat when she needed him? His smartassery would figure this out right away, as much as she hated to admit it.

This was going great. Peachy. Exactly how she planned when...whatever just happened happened. "Look, Batman," Steph spat, stopping in front of him. "You're the new kid here. not me. And you need to earn the right to wear that symbol. Trust me. I know." She pointed to the red bat emblazoned on his stark black costume, taking a step closer. "And you know my name. So excuse me when I say I'm a little suspicious of who you are." With that, she grasped his two batears in her hands, reaching up on her toes. "Mask off, mister."

((I still love the fact that Steph and Tim end up together in batman Beyond. 8l))

STanding up straight at her name, Stephanie scowled, poking this 'Batman' in the chest with a black gloved finger. "This is Gotham. My territory. I belong here. But you, mister...who are you supposed to be?" The blonde gave an extra little jab before pulling away, pacing, once again, in a circle around him, her steps taking more of a stalk than an actual stride. "And how do you know my name?" Her cape swirled behind her as she gave him an equal narrow eyed glare. The Batman she knew didn't take kindly to impostors, wannabes, or whoever decided to put on some ears and call themselves Bat. This city...her surroundings...it looked older. More worn out. How did that happen? Or was she just...losing touch?

Who was she? What...what was going on? "I'm Batgirl...who are you?" Steph pulled out a batarang, backstepping around this...Batman phony in a circle, her expression the epitome of wary confusion. This...wasn't good. New Batpeople were never good, unless it was someone they had previous involvement with...and even then.... "Jason? d**k?" It didn't sound like either of them, though the build was about right to be Todd. He wouldn't dare try to come back as Batman though, would he? The authoritative glare she received reminded her of Bruce and Bruce alone, but it couldn't...right? "Bruce?" she tried again, her head cocking forward, her brow knotted as she lowered her body into a slight defensive crouch. One thing was for sure, though. This guy sounded like Tim...but this definitely wasn't any Tim she knew.

A bit of a tug. That was the only way Steph could describe the sensation she felt just about three seconds ago. The guy, all dressed up and calling himself 'Chronos' had pointed this gun at her, and next thing she knew, she was exactly where she'd been...but no Chronos. And...something...was off. She didn't quite get it. But she did see someone she could recognize. The ears...she wondered where his cape was, but he stood there all the same, though he seemed kind of thin...maybe d**k was messing with some new costumes or something. "Batman...?" she called out carefully, pacing closer.
