"Ah, yeah. Remember that sword I had last night? I tried to get rid of it, but it uh, stabbed me in the back. After I managed to ditch it, the wound healed, but now I have these weird blood marks all over me. My scars are reappearing, and the marks are really sensitive. Thus, no clothes. I'm hoping it'll go away like a rash."

Oh this was getting all shades of awkward.

"I--I don't know yet actually. I haven't really given it much thought," he admitted, casting a tentative glance at Chad before looking away again, clearing his throat as he turned his chair, trying to look busy. "But no, we're not going to the zoo. That's supposed to be an all three of us thing. I wouldn't leave you out of that trip."

"I--" He stopped, blushing some as he ducked his head some, sighing. "I do like Val, a lot, and I asked her out on a date last night but that's....there's more to it than that." Part of him just wanted to say what he had to say and the other part? The more sensible part? Knew it was better to just keep his mouth shut.

He knew that Chad would show up, part of Miguel had just been hoping that he wouldn't. The wall crawler still wasn't sure how to even begin to explain himself without sounding like a complete idiot.

"...I....I don't know. Things are just really..weird right now," he said softly, avoiding his friend's gaze.

"Thanks. I'll keep that in mind. Maybe I can use you as a test subject," he said playfully, nodding towards a syringe sitting on the desk, all in good fun of course. He'd never go that far, especially not after everything they had all been through.

At the mention of the zoo Miguel blinked and sat back some, relaxing into his seat as he lifted his arms to tuck them behind his head. "Sounds like it could be interesting considering I don't think either of you have seen half the animals that exist here."

The wall-crawler chuckled softly, nodding a bit. "I may have to join you. I need to get out of this lab or else I'm going to go crazy or something. Valeria's already been trying to get me out but I just haven't had the time," he said, sighing now as he glanced at Chad then down at the papers.

"I'm working on a theory concerning human genetics and the gaps and bridges between them and mutants. Essentially I'm trying to find out more about the X-Gene in itself but it's a pretty difficult process. I can't seem to figure it out properly without running into road blocks." He waved a hand absently, pushing off the desk only to turn as he pulled his chair out, sinking down into it.
