"Besides, this is all hypothetical. I'm sure he's forgotten about me by now." Lucis smiled back up at him, trusting Kyou and thinking that everything would be allright.

I don't want the guilt of another life on my head." She took a few seconds and shoved the lingering guilt away before continuing to speak. "And I believe in you both, I believe you'll do your best to keep the bloodshed to a minimum."

"Kyou, my being harmed is not what I'm worried about! If I'm forced to fight, someone has to stop me, because I won't be able to stop myself! This is Deathwish we're talking about here, of course there's going to be bloodshed, but I really hope it's no one on our side, and that none of those collared would be harmed so much that they couldn't be healed..." Finally looking back up, she rested her head against his shoulder. "I hope no one is killed..."

"Oh, believe me, I'm all for him being as gone as gone is... But losing a family member, no matter how twisted, still leaves scars. And sadly, he cares ahoy his family a great deal... He never saved my daughter, only harmed her, but he was willing to promise her safety, along with Prism's safety and my freedom, just to keep them safe... I just don't understand how someone that cares so much for their own family, could do such a thing to someone else's. And poor Michiru... She'd be effectively a widow, and I really wouldn't be able to blame her if she... Disliked her husband's 'killers' after that... I'm torn in how to feel, I can see the situation from both sides... And yet, I continuously worry my family will be harmed in some escapade of his, or that I'll be expected to fight against you to defend him... Oh Kyou, I don't know what I should feel..." She closed her eyes and leaned against him slightly, frowning in consternation.

Of course, it was then that she remembered something that made her unable to not feel guilty about what Kyou was saying. "Oh... But he has a family of his own. Those kids... And Michiru, as much as she's a pain, she really loves him... If only someone kicked his useless skull enough that his brain engaged and he realized how stupid he's being and how he'll only hurt his family if he doesn't show something worthy of not being banished."

"I'm glad you're so hard to-- Harm. ...Damn him! Damn that forsaken fire-wielder! Will I never get over this?!" Even angry, Lucis still melted into Kyou's arms, biting down hard on her bottom lip to stop crying. "Thank you, Deathwish is one of my major concerns.. But I'm afraid for what would happen to all those with his collars... Could he still harm them?" Unconciously, one hand went to her notably collarless-neck, skirting the recent slash-like burn on it.

Her voice lowered in volume and seemed a bit choked, as she turned her face away to keep him from seeing she was crying. "A few of my... friends... Were ... Killed, recently. And it was because of me. So I was worried that something might have happened to you, too."

Lucis couldn't fully hide the smirk that thought brought on, but it did disappear rather quickly. "And I'm glad to hear he'll remember so easily.... You don't need help with anything, do you?" She kept her face carefully blank, trying not to show her amusement.

"And according to my sources—one of which may or may not be correct, depending on whether I was seeing things right—a few of the Gemstone knights have been killed—I believe it's the Amber and Jade knights, though some others may have gone missing—and Adrian was tailing the possible killer, who turned out to be one of Deathwish's people. and now there's talk of Deathwish himself being the killer, though it apparently hasn't been proved."
