His point was valid, but now the elevator was there concern. They pryed open the doors and rappelled off the cables.
Out the basement entrance and they were home free. Within hours the media would do there job and the scandal would write itself.
Nothing to do now but sit and wait, the work could wait until tomorrow.

With the secretary hoisted over his shoulder, Joker climbed the remaining flights.
Infuriated with the exhausting climb, he took a great deal of pleasure in roughing up the young woman.
After a few stomps and well placed hits to the jaw, she looked like the picture of spousal abuse.
Wiping the blood off his gloves, he slumped her over the desk. Raising his hands to her shoulders, he gripped the young woman's throat.
She regained consciousness as he tightened his grip but the worst was over, her eyes closed, and her breath relaxed within minutes.
Before turning to leave, he turned back to his work and laughed. Turning to his daughter, Joker commented.
"Next time, you get the fun part."

"Power should kick any..." The lights shut out, and the elevator grinded to a halt as he finished his sentence. "..second."
The air was stiff and humid, a good sign. The ventilation had went off as well, but the heating system had done it's job.
The humidity would cause the body to swell, and sweat. Fingerprints would be impossible.
"She's still out eh?" He laughed and gave the unconscious girl a kick.
She was a low-paid secretary that worked in WayneCorps executive office, the perfect victim of an office affair gone wrong.
He busted out the ceiling panel, and tossed the limp girl through the open square. The climb would be exhausting, but the pay off would be the ultimate gag.

"Well..." He smirked, a grin of his own spreading across his pallor smile.
"We leave a young woman, strangled to death of course, in a company suite, the penthouse to be specific."
He began to laugh. "A quick blast to the power grid and video surveillance will be as useful as a blind man's watch."
The plan was set in motion, late that night they would sneak in through the service elevator, with the young woman already drugged.
Time of death would need to match up afterall.

He considered the notion as he brushed the papers from his desk.
Gotham's downtown was full of busybodies but not many big names in industry, aside from Bruce Wayne.
"Well, there's always Wayne." He recalled past kidnappings of the billionaire, a philanthropist like him was sure to catch Batman's attention.
Although it wouldn't be easy, he remembered a few details. WayneCorp's CEO was fond of late nights, and was usually hard to account for after his working hours.
All these lavish types had something they were hiding, maybe something that could be used against them.
The Joker's daughter recognized the scheming look in her father's eyes.

"You have to start somewhere." He replied calmly as he stepped out of his seat.
"...and when the right people die, the whole world goes wild." He stroked his chin in thought.
Mulling over ideas in his head, the clown thought more deviously. "But they really go wild when someone becomes a killer."
He began to smile. "Of course we just make it look like some poor shmuck's the killer.. The question is who."

"D'ya know why celebrities always mess up?" His voice was relaxed and casual as he grabbed the latest Lohan story on some half shredded tabloid.
He leaned back in his chair and propped his feet on the desk, carelessly flipping through the pages before tossing them towards your gaze.
"They think they're on top of the world, when they're still b-list." He sighed, and crossed his arms behind his head.
"I want to be back on top just like you, but we have to start small. It's like baiting baby seals, then clubbing the mama."
He sat forward and ran his fingers through his unkempt hair, Meeting her gaze he rolled his eyes with discontent.
"Oh fine, we can commit a few homicides, if it will cheer ya up."

J flipped a pen between his fingers, overlooking the amassed newspaper reports on his desk.
"They are as scared and pathetic as ever, my dear." He retorted, his stone gaze still fixed on the twirling pen.
"The public simply needs to remember who to be afraid of.." He let out a muffled laugh. "And that is nothing one look at me couldn't fix."
